My VA Beach Family Vacation

Here is my short TR....

Posted this some of this on my "goodbye, going on vacation" thread, but here goes....

My family and DH's mom and dad, my best friend and her family, DH's sister and her DH, and a couple from church were the characters that went....

Day 1 (sunday). Got up at 5:30, and Sarah (my best friend) and I walked the beach. We came back, got our suits on and laid out on the beach while our kids splashed in the ocean and built sand castles. Came back to the house for lunch, and then laid out by the pool. Then we had supper and went back to the beach.

Day 2 (Monday): Got up at 5:30, and Sarah (my best friend) and I walked the beach. We arrived Saturday around noon. We have gone to VA Beach 3 times with my best friend. This picture is a tradition. Her kids and my kids get together and we make them face the ocean.

Explorer did great! Much tighter than the big van, but the gas was MUCH better!

Can't really tell it is me...but DD and I went parasailing together. It was AWESOME!!!!

that vacation sounds like a dream!!!! And is that the tin from the Popcorn Factory I see in the background of the first picture!!!!!!!

I got up extra early most mornings and was able to capture the sunrise on camera once....Here you go...Oh...and imagine the waves crashing loudly, yet gracefully. The winds blowing, but not cold, just perfectly....NO ONE on the beach...just you and it....The smell of that wonderful ocean and the slight spray of the ocean waters on your face. Ahhhhh.....beautiful..... (And WHY am I stuck in Ohio???? LOL)

Oh, Angela! You guys look like you had a wonderful time!!! Your kids are adorable and you are too. The picture with all of the kids together on the beach is Priceless. Love the colors in the parasail. The morning sun is peaceful and beautiful!

I love the ocean. I could NEVER move inland. I will always live in a state that borders an ocean, any ocean. It is one of those things that my soul just aches for if we stay away too long.

My nephew is in the navy and is on the Roosevelt. He took us on a tour of the air craft carrier. It wasn't the Roosevelt, as an incident occured, and no one was allowed to board, but we were able to get on the Truman. Here are some pics.

Had to take a picture of the small doorways. It is just like in the movies. I am a bit claustrophobic, and at times I had to make sure I kept breathing....slowly....

Great pictures, love the on of all the kids facing the ocean, to cute. What a beaustiful sunset, when we went to Ocean City I did that one morning, all by myself. It was great. The parasailing picture is cute, was it fun? I love the family pics and the fact that you all wore green too cute. You guys do look so young.

About looking young....we do look young, however, if you looked at me in person, I definitely show my age....I just like that darn sun too much!

It was a nice week. Just flew by though....However, I can now say that our next vacation will be WDW! And THAT is exciting!

My DS bought this on the boardwalk at one of the souvie shops....It makes funny noises when you squeeze it. He could not resist bringing it to picture time.....I guess it made the picture! LOL
