I love the Thumbprint Cookies that I used to get in Pittsburgh when I was a kid. I've never been able to find any like them or even a recipe that is close enough. They were the ones with the chocolate inside the thumbprint (but it wasn't just plain chocolate frosting). Does anyone have a clue what I am talking about?

I have a coworker who makes them and she uses kisses as the chocolate.

I will check it out when I get home... is the chocolate like a fudge filling..or silky chocolate. I have a lot of different cookie books as I love to make cookies. I remember seeing something.

My husband's grandmother makes these all the time, except she puts colored frosting in them instead of chocolate. I can't stand them but everyone else seems to love them! I should be seeing her in the next week or so. I will ask if she has a recipe.
