I feel so much guilt in writing this.....Are there any other moms out there that are REALLY READY for their kids to go back to school? It has been a crappy day at our house...raining cats and dogs outside and crabby mommy and children!

One more week....I hope I can make it!

I was so, so, so, so ready for school to start!!! And then I felt badly because I missed them so much the first day.

Now I'm back in my groove. :) And I am loving how much I can get done during the day. Enough that I was able to spend big chunks of time with the kids Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Something I had a hard time doing over the summer when they were in my face 24-7.

I may not be ready for them to go to school, but THEY are ready. I can tell when they start snipping at each other about stupid stuff, it is time for school to begin. We start in 2 weeks. I will miss them horribly, but part of me will be having a nice time enjoying the peace and quiet that I probably desperately need!

OMG YES!!!!! I feel awful thinking it much less admitting it....but after two months everyone is getting on each others nerves in my house. Usually I am sad to see the summer end, but this year, I can't wait!!! I feel like I should get the bad mom award lol!!

Neither of you do, It would be so hard to send them off to school if they were not home all summer to bug you! your Ready for the school to give you a break for a few hours 5 days a week! I remember being a kid, i know i buged my mom. Your kids will enjoy going to school, its something new, fun, learning, friends, recess, lunchtime, its all something different new and fun. They are usually happy to go, so don't feel bad for wanting them gone, they will be back in just a few short hours, with stories, and adventures to share. :hugs:

um, me and um well she is just starting kindergarten. :) I am looking forward to spending time with just my son without his sister pestering him, fighting with hime, etc. Plus she is such a social butterfly that EVERY day she is asking who can come over, where we are going. I am ready for school to entertain her. :) haha

Plus she loves school so we are both looking forward to it.

Sign me up too. Having an only child, *I* am the central playmate and am ready for a break from Barbie, Shrinky Dinks, bike riding (she just learned to ride on two wheels so doesn't want to leave our block yet), etc. I am having fantasies about how to spend that first full day - should I lay on the couch and vegetate, or should I go out and do something only *I* enjoy? I could see a movie with no cartoon characters, go out to lunch at a place that doesn't have plastic utensils....

Big hugs to you Anne!! :hugs:

I've actually convinced DH to take the day off on the first day of school. That way he'll be here when we send them off on the bus and when we welcome them home with loving arms ( ). But in between we are going to have a big date day! We'll probably do something stupid like go to Lowe's, but at least we'll be able to have a conversation without being interupted!

Well, since my "baby" is going to kindergarden this year, I am not ready for them to go back. It just makes me sad, how fast they are growing up!! And my third grader is into HSM 2, which I wasn't ready for either. But I guess that is another subject!!!

Besides all of that, we had such a fun summer of camping and swimming and bike riding, etc. I wouldn't mind if school was still a few weeks away instead of this week!

Mine went back to school, last Monday. And, I was kind of down. I am off every other wkend and my other days off are thru the week, while they are at school. I look forward to summer and having more days off with them. The last month we were on vacation and had gotten into a bad habit of staying up late, watching tv, giggling, playing. Then, bamm, back to school, back to regular bedtime and back to being home without them. However, while on Monday I was blue without them, by Friday (another day off) I was into the full swing of being able to actually accomplish something around the house and enjoying some me time, even if it was only doing laundry.:rotfl:

I answered "yes, I was" and about 10 minutes later my daughter broke the glass in our wedding picture frame!! I kept thinking just a few more weeks, just a few more weeks. :)
