I took a sewing class this summer. (The classes are offered free.)

Since I'm going to Disneyland for my birthday (Aug. 1), I decided to make a shirt to wear.

Not bad considering it's the second shirt I've made.

Great job! I'm sure you'll have a lot of people asking where you got it.

You will absolutely have people asking!!

I really hope to get back to sewing once the kids go back to school in August. It's so good for clearing my mind because it takes a lot of concentration and I have to block out everything else.

Great job! I hate sewing even though I know how to do it, I would rather pay someone to sew it for me! :rotfl:

Totally agree. The last thing I made was a Christening gown for Grace, turned out great, glad I did it but never, again.

John, your shirt looks great! And, that has nothing to do with it only being the 2nd shirt you ever made. A veteran seamstress would be proud.

Thanks everyone!

Actually there are plenty of flaws. Fortunately, black thread on black cotton is very forgiving. :)

I decided to try sewing because I'm too cheap to pay $110 for a Tommy Bahama shirt. Plus I enjoy making things and anything that gets me to turn off the TV is a good thing. :D

Looks awesome! Be proud! Sewing isn't easy for a lot of people...myself included! I started a new project this week myself after being away from the sewing machine for about 5 years...yikes!

It's really cute!
