I would NOT make a very good Pioneer woman! Having no electricity means...No PC, No Phone (except cell), No heat, can't make coffee or tea which I badly wanted because it was freezing in this house, we had wind gusts up to 50mph at times and it's about 18 degrees here today, I was bored to death :rotfl:....A plus is that I read about 4 magazines that were starting to pile up on my coffee table. :D

Look on the bright side, Pam. It could have been dark out and you would have had trouble reading the magazines. ;)
Seriously, glad things are back to normal for you. We have the same nasty winds here. Although we didn't lose electricity...yet...I had to struggle with the steering wheel coming over a high bridge on the way home from work.
Update: while watching the local news, they spotlighted your town. Looks likeall but a tiny part of it is still without electricity. I'm glad you have yours.

This is true..things could always be worse!! :rotfl: Wow, just on our news, half our town is still without power and they have set up an emergency shelter at our local HS because of people having no heat.

This is when a blackberry or iPhone would come in handy Pam. You could tether your blackberry to your laptop and use it as a dial up modem. :)
Glad you have electricity. I can't imagine how cold you must have been. Brrr.

Are you sending your wind here??? No thank you!!!! :D
My granddaughter's Little Tykes House just skidded 10 feet from the house where it was all tucked in nice and cozy.
DH and I were going to go into the city for dinner but I think we will stick closer to home. I just looked at the temperature and it's 14!!! Going to put my long underwear on before we go. :rotfl:

Order in! I would not be able to leave the house if it was 14 degrees outside :rotfl:

The wind seems to have died down a bit now and it's 14 degrees here too...brrrrrrrr! Since I couldn't start dinner tonight because of no electricity, my husband wanted us go out too but I persuaded him to stop and pick something up on the way home...way too cold to be going out...coldest day so far this year here. Looking forward to spring!! :rotfl:

We have a long way to go until spring!! We frequently lose power all year long but mostly in the winter. We've lived here for almost 25 years so we're used to it. We have a wood stove for heat and a gas stove so we can always cook. We also have a kerosene lantern. I've read by that more than once. The weird thing about having no power is the quiet.
We did go out tonight but went didn't go into the city......we went to a restaurant right down the street. We even stopped at the market on the way home.
Leslie went to see Wicked tonight at PPAC. The wind is even more brutal in the city. Hope she was able to park close to the theater.
This is also the coldest day we have had since last winter. Supposed to warm up tomorrow to 23..........we'll be having a heat wave. :rotfl:
Stay warm everyone.
Blessing and Miracle

I'm sorry. No power does stink. Stay warm! I can't even send you warm vibes from Houston as it's pretty darn cold here as well.
