What would you recommend?

My just died. I'm not traveling with it so it doesn't need to be super light. I know I want it wireless and do not want an apple other then that I have no idea.

What do you guys have?

Like it? Not?

Looking to spend around $1,000 or under - any suggestions?

I've had 4 Dells in a row now and like them. Sunshineguy uses them for his company. They run some really good deals if you watch carefully for them. I got the "extra double insurance" on mine so that even if I accidentally...ummm...throw it across the room, they will fix it.

I know my Dh would say nothing less then a 64 bit AMD processor . But he would disagree with Sunhine girl and say he hates Dells :( He my computer geek and like anything they all have diffrent opinions . In fact we off tommower to pick him up a new baby from Best buy cause they just lemoned ours out after 3 yrs of warrenty !!!!! So we are etting free computer from them . We buy everything we need a warrenty from threw them cause there warrenty is wonderfull .

OK very tired but if you want to know what all you need or want Iam sure between a few of our Dh's we could help you get something .

PS after you find the "one" go threw SR and get points for buying it . Best buy you could even then pick it up in the store .

Good luck with what ever you do .

I have an Acer that I really like. It replaced my Dell that I liked, too, but I did NOT have the double special insurance and I dropped it and apparently smoked the mother board. Believe me, like Tricia I got the insurance on this one. Tested it already, too... spilled coffee on it and they fixed it for free without batting an eye!!

This one was NOT less than a thousand (esp. w/insurance), but it really is great. It's a TravelMate 4220 with a 15.4 wide LCD screen, and (typing this off the specs for you) 1.66 GHz, 66.7 MHz FSB, 120GB HDD... yada yada yada LOL! It's fast is all I can say, and I love the screen. It's not light, though.
