So our road trip started at 5 p.m. leaving Michigan. Traffic and weather were great and the kids slept most of the way. We arrived at SSR at 10:30 a.m. and were so excited to finally be there. SSR is beautiful! We loved it. We all took naps and then headed to DD. We went to Goofy's Candy Co. and everyone picked out their pretzels. The kids are crazy about the pretzels with toppings and so are we. The best use of a snack credit ever! :)
I loved that DD had some Halloween decorations up. My DS really loved this one.

Dinner at WCC was a disappointment. After hearing rave reviews from my sister, luvmyboys, about their great experience at WCC I couldn't wait to try it out. We arrived early and waited about 40 mins to be seated. After we were seated, we waited another 10-15 for a server to come over to our table. By this point, we were tired and frustrated. Our server wouldn't let the kids (on the DDP) get appetizers or desserts. Our service was so so so slow and by the end of it, I just wanted to leave.
On a side note, I think it is a good restaurant but that a lot depends on your server. The food was good. Some people had great servers who were smiling and coming to their table more than 3 times in the meal. The table right next to us also had a "less than Disney qualified" server also. They asked if he was going to buy a cowboy hat like the other servers and he said that he didn't have the money or the time to go and buy a hat. They asked if he liked being a server there, he stated that it paid the bills. I'm just not used to that at Disney. I waitressed all through college and never would have acted like that towards my customers.
Oh well, so WCC wasn't so great but the WL is beautiful and the kids loved walking around and checking things out so that was cool.

The pool area by our room at SSR was awesome. The kids loved the spray area.
The weather was great and we couldn't wait for MNSSHP. The decorations at the park were AWESOME!!!

Trick or treating was a lot of fun and things didn't get scary until we got to:

So we're loving the party so far and head into Mickey's Toontown Fair to do some trick or treating and ride Goofy's Barnstormer. I get in line with DD4 and DS3 and start to get a bit nervous. I am the biggest weenie when it comes to hills on rides and last time I went on the Barnstormer (about 8 years ago) I screamed. So I start pointing out costumes to my kids and talking about how cool they are. Then DD4 goes, "Mom, the boy in front of us is a princess." I said "Yes, he has a very pretty dress." The child (probably about 7) turned to their Mom and said "That girl just called me a boy!" AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I felt very bad. I apologized and told her that DD4 didn't understand that both girls and boys don't wear dresses on Halloween and that it was a mistake. The kid wouldn't let it go. She kept telling DD4 that she wasn't a boy which DD4 wouldn't believe (Heck, I was having a hard time seeing it) and I just wanted it to be time for the ride. We get up to the ride and realize it is only 2 to a seat. This would be the first rollercoaster ride for the kids and I was already getting scared. So I exited out the other side of the ride and told my husband he would have to take them one at a time. The kids loved it and DD4 ended up going twice and I chickened out.
After that, the night was pretty uneventful. We got lots of candy, waited about 5 minutes for the Dumbo ride and walked on to pretty much every other ride after 8:00. It was AWESOME! The parade was great and the kids loved it.

DD2 fell asleep right before the parade so after it my DH sat on a bench with the stroller while I took the kids on rides. He enjoyed 3 Dole Whips in that time for which I teased him relentlessly. Sure, use everyone else's snack credits for your Dole Whip enjoyment.
We had just finished getting pictures with Hook (about 11:40) when a downpour started. Holy Smokes! We didn't even know it was coming. So we hid under a roof for about 10 minutes until it let up and started to head for the exit. Overall, the party was awesome and we can't wait to do it again next year.
