I am sorry to have to say that my mother-in-law passed away today. She was only 70 yrs old but was so sick...she looked and felt like 90. It is a long story but she passed away due to pneumonia. She refused machines at the end. She was surrounded my DH and SIL and got to see her grandkids. My DS1 visited her last week.

I will be popping in during the week to keep my mind off the wake and funeral.

I'm so sorry!

My F-I-L passed away in July after a long battle with Parkinson's. He was 72, and he put himself on hospice at the end.

Believe me, I know what you are going through!!

:hugs: and prayers to you and your family!!

Good morning all...

Thank you for all your good thoughts and prayers. I have passed them all onto DH...who knows what nice people you all are!

Last night was the first wake. It was hard (is it ever easy?) but we got ourselves through it. My niece was the worst...18yrs old...but she grew up spending a LOT of time with her grandma. The tears and sobs made the rest of us so sad for her.

Today is the long day of two wakes...we will have relief in the middle because we are coming back to my house to eat (what else do Italians do at a time llike this?) and my kids will be here. They always seem to make the family smile.

Tomorrow is the funeral and burial.

DH is doing well. He is a "momma's boy" who has taken care of her for years. I truly believe that she waited for him to be married and have a baby before she passed. She has been ill for the 5 years I know her...but she waited for him to be settled (married at 38 and baby at 40 so she had to wait a while!). I know it will be hard for him for a long time...

Again thank you for the prayers and thoughts. I have snuck on the boards a few times for keep up on the postings but haven't really posted anything. Hope you are all helping Bryan keep the games threads going! I see Cindy is running a smooth ship...there will be a bit of wine flowing today...I will toast you with one of them. To everybody else, give your loved ones a hug today and have a :sunshine: filled day!
