:woohoo: my little guy is 2 ½ and went teetee on the potty. I know some of you know where I'm coming from but I’m really excited for the little guy and me ;) . I have heard boys are harder to potty train and I was thinking I might have to wait until he was 3. We've been on Christmas vacation (just at home) for over a week but I wanted to start potty training him after Christmas. Today is the 5th day and he has gone almost every time don’t get me wrong we have had 2 accidents today but I think it has all finally sunk in. I told him don’t you want to go to WDW…well then you need to go potty on the toilet…hmmm maybe it worked.

Congrats to you and your little man. I potty trained 2 boys and 1 little girl and I would have to say that my middle son was the hardest. He was a little on the lazy side. My Katie will be 3 next month and is already completely potty trained. I hope he hangs in there!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: There's nothing like some teetee in the potty!!:rotfl: And I wish you continued success with this!! My DS was almost four before he got it, of course I was beginning to think he enjoyed his rewards so much that he just wanted to keep "learning" forever!! DD on the other hand was a breeze.

Woohoo!! Ms. Tag Fairy!!:rotfl:

OP-congrats on the progress. I had three girls and we "bribed" them with Disneyland. **Don't you know that when you are 2 1/2 and you go to Disneyland, it's the Disney rule to not wear pull-ups. You have to use the Disney potties** Worked for us all three times

DD was a walk in the park. One day she asked about going on the potty and I told her that anytime she wanted to try it was ok with me. She mulled it over for a month and one day out of the blue she announced that she was going to use the potty and that she didn't need diapers or pullups any more. DH and I was like yeah right. She used the potty that day and everyday after that. She only had 3 accidents and she also stopped going at night. Now, ds was almost 4 and still had no interest in going. If he made a mess in his pull up he just went and took it off and put another one on. AND he was dry first thing in the morning. I finally did what all my older relatives suggested. I took off the pull up and put on a pair of big boy undies. We discussed that if he had to go, he needed to use the potty. It took a couple of days of messes and fighting with him because he kept trying to put on a pull up. But, after a couple of days, he finally started to use the potty! Good luck and I hope that he continues to keep up the good job for you.

Congrats! That is definitley something to be excited about! My 1st was trained almost right when he turned 2. Then 2nd son came around......oh boy.....was that a little more difficult. DD was pretty easy.

Hope your success continues!!

Congrats!! :woohoo:

My oldest DD was much harder than my littlest. She just couldn't be bothered, but finally sucumbed at 2 and change. My littlest one was desperate to lose those diapers. When she was 2 yrs 3 months, we took her to the open house of the nursery school I was hoping to get her into. It was a lottery type situation, so while I was waiting, hoping and praying that her name would be drawn (85 kids in the lottery and they only had 16 slots available...crazy!), she was playing and wandering around the nursery school, checking out the lovliness of her new surroundings. As luck would have it, her name was the 9th one pulled (YIPPEE!). She was upset that it was time to leave (this was in January), so I assured her that we'd get to come back in September when school started. I called my DH from my cell phone to let him know that she got into the school and casually mentioned that we "officially have 8 months to get her potty trained for preschool". Apparently the little eavesdropper took it to heart...by the following weekend, the child had COMPLETELY potty trained herself including #1, #2, daytime and nightime. No joke! So I guess it just takes wanting something REALLY badly!! :rotfl: I can see how the trip to Disney would be equally motivating! These short little people know EXACTLY what they're doing...LOL!!

That's awesome! My little man just turned 3 and he is officially rewady to go back to school in big boy pants. And he looks so cute in those little briefs!

My middle child (girl) was hard, but everyone told me it was because she has some developmental delays. After working REALLY hard for 6 months and no success, I decided to take a month off and she trained herself in 2 days! And she has never had an accident, since.

Chad's been doing great this whole time. I can't wait until he's trained through the night, as well, though!

Awesome!
My oldest little guy is 3yrs 2mos & is only partly trained. The 'teetee' part is easier than the 'poopoo' part, I guess! He's dry at night, which is great. But we still put put pullups on him, because he just doesn't tell us when he has to go #2. I wish he would! I'm really not sure exactly what to do w/ him, cuz I know pushing him won't work, and other tactics haven't worked. :( Anyway, he'll probly come around soon - I sure hope bfore August when the new one comes, and I'll have a newborn's and a 1 1/2 yr old DS's diapers to be changing, so I don't want to still be changing an almost 4 yr old as well!!

Thank you everyone! I was so not looking forward to doing the whole potty training but then again who is. My DH got frustrated a few times but I told him we just needed to stick with it and not give up and I’m glad to report my DS is doing really good…no accidents so far today. I wanted him to be somewhat potty trained before he went back to daycare on Wednesday.
