AAA TA Help

We have always used our AAA discount either through AAA, or through Disney itself. Which one is better?

I called my AAA place today, and they were less than thrilled to give me a price. She told me to just go onto the Disney site and that is the price that they would give me. I told her that I thought AAA gave us discounts, and she said "well, yes....sometimes, if they are available. I guess I will have to get back with you on that."

Now, I told her I was not quite ready to book yet, because me dates were not quite set in stone. Should I have waited to get a quote once my dates are set? Is that why she was not that excited to talk to me? I felt like I was wasting her time....

hmm that is strange. You would think that she would help you out a little more even if you were just looking. Is she a AAA Disney TA or just a AAA TA? Maybe you should try another agent if she is not willing to help you.

How do you find another agent? I just called our local AAA. We have never had any trouble doing that in the past. I was just disappointed in her attitude. I am excited about pricing out DD and my trip, but she made it less than an enjoyable phone call....

If I called Disney, would they give me the AAA discount quote? I can't remember if that is what we did last time or not.

Oh, Angela, that's awful! I think AAA has a Disney special during January, but not positive. Anyway, I have a AAA agent who is a Disney Specialist who never gives us any issues. You might be able to try getting one online through the AAA website. I tried for my "maybe" Jan 2009 trip, but she emailed back that it was too early and to try back in September, which seems kind of late to me!

I've never done a AAA package, but I do the AAA on the phone w/ Disney for room only. My stay at POP was $72/night (that includes the tax) for my Dec trip.

I do not have AAA so I don't know all the details but I would think you could just call up and ask for another rep to deal with. It sounds like Pat has someone good for you to use. Hopefully you will be able to get a good quote.

I think every AAA office has a Disney specialist. Although, when I have requested quotes from the Disney specialist at my local AAA, they were less knowledgeable than I am.

I am just shocked at the attitude you received from the AAA ta. As a member, you are paying that ta's salary(and potential commission). She should have been much more helpful.

CRo for WDW can quote you the AAA rate. :) However, you can't pair the DDP withit.

Oh wow! That's horrible! My AAA TA is awesome too! She ALWAYS prices trips out for me for "future reference"! I do tell her that it's no rush on getting prices back to me as it's months away, but she always does & she's happy to do it.

January is Disney month at AAA, but honestly, I've never found it to be that great that I MUST BOOK NOW! But sometimes it's a set of luggage (which we did get one year acutally), last year it was a $25 Disney GC...which we lost due to changing our ressies to Free Dining later in the year.

Your TA is kind of correct in that if she meant "sometimes gives discounts" as "if there are any AAA discount rooms available"...but that shouldn't mean she would/should pawn you off onto Disney. What about the AAA perks associated w/booking through them? Sounds like she was just too lazy to help you & that's just horrible in my opinion.

I do understand that some dates the AAA rate may be gone. But we have never had a problem getting the rate and we go during July 4th - one of the busiest times of the year. I guess she at least could have looked. I don't really trust her now....Of course I have not heard back from her yet. She told me that as soon as she was off the phone with her client, she would call me back....that is a LONG conversation!

I am in no hurry though....just like to get the quote.

So I will get a hold of springs TA tomorrw and see what happens.

Angela, she is FANTASTIC. I can't say enough good things about her. My Mom (Spring/Pat) referred me to her years ago. I'll admit that I'm higher strung and more demanding than my Mom, and she "handles" me beautifully, LOL! She knows I'm a "bit" of a control freak when it comes to my trip planning...LOL! Just an FYI - I believe she's off on Wednesdays (or at least has been lately), so if you don't hear back from her today, that could be why. Good luck and happy planning!! :)

Thanks! I am not worried about her getting back to me tomorrow. I just want someone who knows what they are doing and at least treats me like I am not a pain in the rear. She sounds perfect! And would that not be the BEST job???? Planning WDW trips!!!! I would love to do that!
