I am so excited. Today I am getting my bedroom recarpeted. It smells so bad I can hardly get to sleep at night. You remember the problem with Kaiser, well, that pretty well ruined my 1 year old carpet. Now I have to go in and clean out the bedroom, get the stuff from under the bed, clear the dressers, all that good stuff. I know it will certainly be worth it, but what a hassle. I'm getting a completely different kind though. One of my walls has big palm trees painted around a ceiling to floor half moon shaped window, and the carpet I bought is a chocolately brown, so it will look like the palm trees are standing in the ground. Its not a plush either, its one of those newer short shags. I know I'm going to be thrilled. It won't show all the debris thats always on my floor from the dogs, and it won't show the sweeper marks. There is nothing better than getting a "facelift" to your bedroom. Once you are done with all the hassle of clearing out the bedroom, then putting it back together, I know you will feel wonderful with the new decor. Good luck!:sunshine:

Yay - new carpet is fun!!
We got some 3 weeks ago in a couple rooms, and I was just thrilled about it -the other carpet was so old and worn and no padding underneath.
It just makes a room look new again!
So I'm glad you get to enjoy some new carpet.

I love the visual of the Palm Trees growing out of the ground in your bedroom....one of my favorite things are Palm Trees!!! No "real" ones here in CT. but I do have a fake silk one in my Florida Room! I will have to remember this idea for any future re-decorating! Good Luck with the new carpet!

When I get it done I'll post a pic for you. I love palm trees too. They are all over my house. My entire bedroom is palm trees too. I have some real ones in my yard too and would like more. I have a cluster of trees in the front yard too that eventually I want to take out and replace with a big pineapple palm.

Oh, that sounds sooooooooo nice. I love palm trees, however, they don't grow well in CT, LOL. Can't wait for my upcoming cruise to see palm trees again. I love to pull a beach chair up under a palm tree and take a nap. I'm thinking that mural in your bedroom must make it a wonderful room for sleeping!:sunshine:

Oooh, new carpet, how fun! I can just smell that new carpet smell! I love palm trees too. They are one of my favorite things in life, but like others have said they just don't grow in Wisconsin either! Whenever we head south it's one of the things I look forward to most, seeing palm trees again.
Good luck with the new carpet. Can't wait to see pics!

Well, we are done. The carpet is in and we've cleaned up all the mess, and a mess it was. The spring cleaning is done in that room, but i need a new bedskirt for sure. Going to look for that tonight. I'm exhausted. That room was horrible with dog hair and the doors being open in the house don't help. For those of you that don't live in florida, we have what is called, black sand. The entire back wall of my living room opens to a lanai, and this time of year I keep it open 24/7, but the horses in the pasture kick up so much black sand and my house gets horrible. I love the openess, but hate the black sand everywhere. Well, my room for at least a week is clean of it. So now, I'm enjoying a glass of chardnonnay, (thanks dude for the La crema) and a bag of Dale and Thomas Popcorn. I' m ready to chill out. My back is killing me.
