According to someone on Dis, they've already gotten theirs! We should be in the second batch so I hope to see ours by the end of next week. :cooldance:

The timing of when they go out is based on your SSN right? Anyone know where I can find out that info (not what my SSN is, but the timing info)?

but apparently they are ahead of the schedule. I'd just assume those dates are accurate and be pleasantly surprised when it shows up early. :cooldance:

Sorry, Jen! I was taking an OTX survey for almost an hour or more! Glad someone else answered your question. :) I don't know why not on Friday. It's on the front page of Yahoo news.

Whoever said they got theirs already, hmmm, I'm not so sure about that. The president said they will go out beginning Monday, but who knows he could be forgetting things like Dude. LOL.

Yeah! I hadn't seen separate dates for direct deposit or paper check. I thought we had to wait until July since we are in the last group, but if this is correct, we only have to wait a couple of weeks!
DH will be happy, our TV went out this week so of course we now have to upgrade to digital and DH is VERY picky about our A/V products since that's what he works with every day. Our check should cover the ones we are looking at. Hopefully there will be a decent sale soon.

Yay!! Mine will be here in time for our vacation. Since I wasn't expecting it when I first started planning this trip and had saved accordingly, this feels like free money and I can leave that much in my savings. Can't wait! As soon as it arrives (well as soon as I am free), I am going for traveller's checks. I know they are old fashioned, but I need to actually SEE how much I am spending and what we have left, each day. And, I like traveller's checks...I am a dork. :rotfl:

I'm very happy right now, we had already decided to spend some of it, but put the rest towards debt. I just got off our Credit Union's website, and our pickup is PAID OFF! That means we actually own both our vehicles. (Just in time to need a new one, too. :rotfl: Hopefully the car will last a couple months at least.) But it really does feel good to have something paid off.

What a nice feeling to have something paid off!! My DH and I would just like to see our credit card debt down to the bare minimum, so that's what we'll do with most of our check.
Glad we're getting direct deposit, and don't have to wait long to get it. Nice that the gov't is getting something done quicker than usual for once!:rotfl:

LOL. Normally the government is slow and especially considering the fact that they're giving money away, I would think they would be behind schedule.

I didn't do direct deposit :( but my social ends in 15, so I'm going to start stalking the mailman soon! LOL:rotfl:

Here's the IRS link with the mailing/deposit dates. DH's SSN ends in the 90s so we're in the last group but at least we direct deposit so we'll see it soon.

They're already saying on the news that prices have gone up so much since this "band-aid" was developed that Nancy Pelosi could possibly suggest another round. With gas pushing $4 a gallon and food prices skyrocketing, the argument is that $600 pp isn't going to go very far - for far too many, it's just going to go to every day expenses and not be extra spending like it was intended for.

This is a good point!! A lot of people might just use this to help tide them over with regular living expenses - having food to eat and gas in the car is really better than getting some luxury item that doesn't fill the belly!
I know I have actually gotten some GC to Walmart from SR that I have used for groceries - just to keep the credit card bill from creeping too high. We're not in bad shape by any means, but we're not so flush that we don't worry about the rising costs of food, living expenses, etc - esp. with a 3rd child coming!

I was getting antsy because there was no info on the IRS websiteoand a hold they had with our federal tax refund so I called the IRS today and she confirmed that ours will be direct deposited on Friday! Woohoo! It was well worth the 20 minute hold time to get the information.

If anyone else in interested the number to call is #1800-829-1040, pick option 7 and hold on, they will ask you twice if you want information about the Stimulus but don't push any of the options just hold on for a person.
