Just added $$$$ to the Disney Fund!!

I sold scrap gold & got $500!! OMGosh! I'm sooooo thrilled!! I can't believe it!! I've been stalking a thread & a few websites for over a month & finally got my butt in gear to send in my gold & silver! Went to a local guy yesterday & he was going to give me $388...I'm SOOOOO glad I sent it in!!

10k & 14k gold items...some chains/necklaces, a few rings, a bracelet & 2 charms. Had about 36.3 pwt (didn't break it out by 10k or 14k though). Then I had a WHOLE bunch of silver 102.2 pwt...but that doesn't pay a whole lot, but it was better than sitting in my dresser!!:rotfl:

These were items I knew I wasn't going to wear again. Only 2 items were "broken" rest were completely in tact....I just have this thing...I LOVE my birthstone & well, I've purchased many an item for MYSELF & I figured, might as well cash in while the price of gold is still pretty high!! I did NOT part w/items that people gave me...like my class ring, my confirmation ring & the first ring Steve ever gave me. Even if I'll never wear them again, they still have some meaning to me.

They did quote me over $600 last night over the phone, but I figured my weights were a little off because the stones were still in them. I'm MORE than pleased w/my increase in Disneyfundage though!!:mickey:

Wow Jen, that's great!! I've been considering doing that too but I've been kind of chicken. I don't really have very much so I don't know if it's worth it. I mostly have rings. Most are 10k, but I have one 18k one that is fairly heavy. Who did you send it to?

Wow Jen!! That's amazing. Unfortunately, I've never been one into buying much jewelry, but this sure makes me wish I had been over the years. I did the SR offer a while back and did gather up what little I did have that I was willing to part with - but it was nowhere near $500. :)

Congrats on adding to your Disney fund. I gathered up some scrap gold a few weeks ago for the same reason. Got $110 for just some broken chains and earrings. Glad I saved them for all these years. I'm new to SR and am looking forward to saving up points for a Disney GC for my Dec. 08 trip. (Unless the price of gas kills my trip).
