Gambling in Canada isn't as good as it used to be thanks to that strong Canadian Dollar. I miss the days of US$.60/C$1!!! Now it your lucky if you get something below US$.95/C$1.

I'm sure my Canadian friends aren't complaining about those new rates though!

I know what you mean! It used to be so great to know that the hotel rate or dinner price was actually better than it looked b/c of the exchange rate. Now with the strong Canadian dollar and the GST/and other taxes, it doesn't look so appealing!

I do love Canada though, a Tim Horton's on every corner!

You would be suprised at some of the complaining about the dollar. Manufacturers counted on the low dollar to make their goods look better to the US and the film industry came up here because it was cheaper to shoot.

We are still charged on the old exchange on goods imported (so we pay way too much for books!)

I'm happy though, since it makes my Disney trip so much cheaper. And since my DVC payment is due in less than a month I hope it keeps climbing!
