YAY! I just booked VIP tours!

I know I have been a bit MIA lately..... once DH left for Iraq things got really hectic around here (man I never realized how helpful he was!) and we had a couple deaths in the family, and I just haven't had a whole lot of computer time. I did try to stop into chat a few times, but no one was around. I figured I should drop in and say hello and then get back to busting my butt on some offers to help with Disney.

I thought those of you Disney lovers might understand my excitement. Long story short right before DH went to Iraq he was in Mississippi for a few months, at one point he had 1 day off and couldn't go more then 100 miles, so they went to some casino resort, he spent almost 5 grand in a day. I could have killed him, but it bought me a free pass to spend a rediculous amount on something of my choosing. So.... I decided to book VIP tours for my August Disney trip for mine and DD's bdays with my mom and my sis. I am soooooo excited I normally would not blow that kind of money, but a girl has to get even and he even okayed it. Plus I don't like to go in August so I doubt we will ever be there on mine or DD's bdays again. I called today and booked MK VIP tour for DD's bday and HS for mine! Plus I got all the ADRs I wanted so it was a great day! I was so excited at work, but most of my co-workers thought I was crazy and just a big kid (although I do have a few Disney lovers who understood my excitement).

Oh yeah.... I kept buying DD too many cute custom clothes for Disney and DH told me if I wanted the tours I better stop spending $200 on an outfit she will wear once so I learned how to sew over the past few weeks. I thought I would share with you a couple of the outfits I have made DD so far for the trip, plus I have been MIA and haven't posted a pic of Taylor in awhile.

Here are 2 of the outfits I have made, I have about 15 more to make in the next 90 days.

I love the Cruella/Dalmation one and the Mickey head one.......did you use patterns or just figure it out yourself??

Awww thanks! I didn't think I would catch on so fast, I didn't think I would be able to learn before out trip since I couldn't sew a button a few weeks ago, but I feel pretty good about it now.

I used a pattern for the Cruella top and pants (but modified a little) and for the Boo dress. The Zebra skirt I didn't really need a pattern for. The appliques I used an embroidery machine for, it is soooooo awesome.... I hook it to my laptop and bring a design over and it stitches outlines, stops so I can slide the fabric on and then it stitches again, then I cut around the edges and start the machine again and it does the satin stitch, it then moves to the next color on the design. It is sooooooooo awesome and I found a site online that has tons of Disney appliques I can load onto the machine. I just got the machine from HSN (shopping thru SR of coarse), and it is such a fun toy!

I LOVE those outfits- especially the Dalmations one!! I have been itching to get a sewing machine and learn some more! Please post some more pictures to help push me over the edge...!!

Ok Miranda...we need to have a talk....you're DH is a cop, my DH is a cop...you do accounting, I do accounting...if my DH ever spent $5k heads WOULD roll!! Not to mention, there would NOT be $5k left over for me to spend!

Sorry to hear about the deaths in the family & DH being gone, but you're right, it seems as though you NEEDED to book those VIP tours for your bdays! How fun...90 day mark...congrats.

LOL! HAHA must sound like mine is a dirty cop huh? J/K! Actually he is getting paid for being a cop and a soldier now.... the sheriff's dept still pays him while he is gone, so another reason I can get away with it this year. And actually his 5k was our tax refund. That is soooooo not how I wanted to spend our refund, and I would have killed him if he wasn't 14 hours away. We owed 2 years ago so I way overpaid my withholdings throughout the year to avoid owing again and then ended up with a big refund. He saw it as "extra" and thought it was no biggie that he blew that kind of money. So not only did he agree to me taking the VIP tour, but he pushed for us to do it on 2 days! I guess he wants to not feel guilty any more.

I am sooooooo excited, I am not one to ever blow money, but I figure I need to do my job to stimulate the economy. I feel a little guilty he won't get to enjoy the tour too, but with him gone I could use the cheering up and I am glad I don't have to worry about crowds on those 2 days! BTW.... if you can make it do Disney in August too.... feel free to join me, the tour costs the same amount for 1 person or 10. I know I probably should have saved the tour for the SR meet, but I would feel guilty not letting DD enjoy it too and she is staying home in Oct (I think)

Glad to see you back on the forums...........and I love the cute outfits you made for dd! Great job.

How fun are those tours going to be!!!???? I cannot wait to hear all about them. Also keep posting pictures of the outfits as you make them!!
