    Bryan,
Are you joining the group?!!!! Hoping that's a yes as I think you'd love it.

Your meals in the main dining rooms, buffet, and room service are included in the cost. On a 3-day cruise their won't be a brunch at Palo (unless someone REALLY has pull) as it is usually done on an at-sea day. Palo is an upcharge of $10 per person and this supposedly includes the gratuity, but many people will tip beyond that (we do, but we just throw money around willy-nilly anyway). There is a drink station on Deck 9 for complimentary sodas. If you order sodas from the bars you will pay for them. Any alcoholic drinks will include an automatic 15% gratuity. I think the drink prices on DCL are very comparable to restaurants and bars that I frequent (don't frequent many bars, but do frequent many restaurants!).

I really enjoy the food on DCL, but if you ask someone else they may not. It's all about what people are comfortable with. It is not mom's home-style cooking, unless mom is a professional chef. Some people think it's over the top; I've never had a meal that I didn't enjoy. AND if you order something and you don't like it, you can order something else and not worry about it. Get 2 appetizers, get 3! If you want/need something that's not on the menu, ask your server. They will try and get it for you. They won't promise, but they'll try, and many times they do succeed!

    Hope that helps some.

    Michael

Well i have not booked yet i am inching my way... running the numbers and saying do it, just do it...... But thats a long story, but who does not talk to themselfs when it comes to Disney....
Yes you have started to help!

So you think the food is good thats great... Do they still do Lunch at palos on the 3Night and is the Palo Lunch the same as the Dinner, I would love to try Palo but would not like to miss out on any of the other restaurants as we only get them once....

I am sure you have some favorite drinks....

So you can get multiple dishes at the Dinner, 2 Apps 3 apps a few desters and entrays too.... Because if the restaurants are anything like Disney world then i am sure they will have many items i would love to try eat...

How late does Room service serve
Can you do multiple lunches.... are all they the same
    Do they have good pizza....

BTW i would do other things then eat I am just finding it hard to believe all the options you get when i know how much they charge at WDW for food or the limited Dinning plan they have compared with what DCL seems to be offering....

TIA for the continued replys, Photos anyone...

There will only be a dinner at Palo. What you can do is book Palo for an evening (say a LATE reservation) and go to the restaurant that you're regularly scheduled also. Have an appetizer or salad with your tablemates and then excuse yourself and head up to your dinner at Palo. (That's sort of a quick down-and-dirty on how to do it, but I'm leaving the house in a few minutes and thought I'd get it out to you.

Yup, you can do just about anything you'd like to do for dinner. Realize that these will not be plates full of food, but nicely-sized servings. Your server will probably try and force some extra desserts on you!!!

How late does Room service serve
    24 hours

I believe Parrot Cay is the restaurant opened for lunch and the buffet (Topsiders) has the typical buffet food. There's Goofy's Galley which will have hot dogs and burgers. On Castaway Cay there is a separate lunch/barbeque area at the "adult" beach so if you don't want to deal with lots of kids that works nicely too.

    Do they have good pizza....
You're from New York, right? Will anyone be able to live up to NY pizza? The pizza is so-so, but I still like the taste of cooked tomato sauce!

Well, DCL is charging a pretty penny as well. Think of the ship as one, big, grazing station!

No photos right now, but I'll check out the albums and see what, if anything, we've got to share!

There is a whole thread on DIS of just pictures of DCL food. I never even thought to take pictures, but I wish I had. Not only is it all yummy, it's beautifully prepared. The only night I was disappointed was the one at Animator's Palate. I guess my hopes were too high. It wasn't bad, but just not the same to me as the other restaurants were.

And oh the mojitos....I could totally go for one of those right now.

I didn't eat at Palo's at all because I didn't want to leave my daughter to fend for herself.

I hope you decide to join us all and book the SR cruise.

Oh Palo... I would like to eat there every night! It was so awesome. Brunch, which we won't have on the 3-day was great too; but dinner was really outstanding. That's one meal where our server insisted we try not only our choice for dessert but his fave. And his fave was actually the best!! We tipped over the $10 too... I think maybe around $25 on top of the upcharge for the 2 of us if I'm not mistaken.

I understand about not wanting to leave your kids, but ours were absolutely thrilled to be able to eat in their club with their friends. But you could always feed them room service while you are getting ready, or go to the dining room with them and then Palo later.

I enjoyed all the food on DCL -- Michael is right about the giant grazing station. And another of my favorite things to do was to order Mickey bars (free, except for a tip to the guy who brought them) from room service to eat in bed after we got back to our cabin at night LOL!

I have pictures... I'll try and send a link to my shutterfly album from our 4-day this past January.
