Direct TV question

Our new condo down the street (talking a half mile) is not set up for AT&T Uverse like our apartment. So rather than go with Comcast I was thinking about going with Direct TV.

So my question is how many shows can the DVR record at one time? I'm spoiled with Uverse since I can record 4 at once. Can I get more than 1 DVR for recording if it only records 1 at a time?

We have two lines on each of ours so we can do 2 in each room. So we can record 4 between our bedroom and living room.
