Wow, sounds like a great deal! I don't know if this helps, but I purchased a Kindle for my DH for his birthday. I just purchased it in my name with my e-mail, and when he got it, it gave him a chance to change everything into his e-mail and such. It was very easy. Sure you can read magazines on the Kindle. You can also put major newspapers and lots of games. Used it on our last trip to keep me amused on the plane. Go browse in the Kindle store at Amazon to see if there are things there that you'd like.
