Default For anyone who has cruised on the Dream

We are booked on the Fantasy in July. We have sailed on both the Magic and the Wonder and LOVE them. I am wondering if the "bigger" ships are as much fun or is it too many people? I know, Disney does a great job of handling large crowds at the parks, just wondering what it is like on the ships, say around the pool, etc. Thanks

I loved the Dream because it was so new. My children loved the AquaDuck. They could not get enough. The ship seemed crowded more crowded than the Wonder. It was like Disney in Peak season. For that reason, we prefer the Wonder. HTH.

You may have a totally different experience. My opinion is just that. Only one person's perspective. I go to WDW in the Summer and love it. Love to wear shorts, tanks and flip flops. Love hot weather to swim and go to waterparks. Does not bother me. Other people strongly disagree and hate the Summer for their own person reasons. That is what makes the world go around. My intention of answering your post was to give you my experience on those cruises and not to disappoint you. Hope whatever you choose turns out to be terrific!!

SG and I were REALLY worried that we would not enjoy the Dream as much because of the size. The one place that stood out as being more crowded was the restaurants. The tables were closer together and they were louder. But we didn't notice a difference with the kids club, "night clubs," Pirate Party, etc. And we went in June after it set sail, which was totally booked. We also didn't notice that Castaway Cay was any busier, but we had 2 stops there, which helped. Although we liked the size of the Magic and Wonder better, it didn't stop us from booking our next cruise on the Fantasy!!

Thank you both for your replies! I LOVE Disney and I don't mind going in the summer, because we make great use of the extra magic hours, and then we sleep in and linger at the pool during the heat of the day and hit the parks at night. But we don't even try to get in the long lines, for us it is fastpass or we catch it next time.

I love both the Magic and the Wonder and never felt too crowded or rushed or pushed on them. Heck even being full, they weren't bad and it felt comfortable and familiar.

We are taking my Mom who is 90 and her cousin who is 80. They will hang out in mostly the adult areas of the ship, except for meals. I just don't want them to lose any of the enjoyment of the trip because the ship is so much bigger. My Mom has cruised on almost every cruise line and so far Disney has been her favorite so I don't want to ruin that. I didn't even think about the size of the Fantasy until I saw pictures of how big it is. I have also talked my friend into going and taking her two daughters ages 13, & 15 this will be their first cruise and I don't want them to be overwhelmed. More crowded in the diningroom is not the end of the world, but waiting in line to get in the pool would be not too much fun. BUT it is Disney so it must be fun.
