Default Anyone still scrapping?

Mike and I are trying to save money so I'm turning to the things we already have rather than going out shopping and spending money. Thus we are eating out of the freezer, watching movies on demand with Netflix, and hitting the gym. I also remembered my huge plastic crate of scrapbooking supplies. So I think it is time to get back to scrapping.

Anyone still scrapping? Any new pages to share?

I think I'm going to start up this weekend with our last Disney trip. I just have to stay in a contained area until the ants have been bombed which will be next weekend.

Well, I'm preparing myself for scrapping. I've been ordering a backlog of pictures through Walgreens and I made a huge purchase (not what you wanna hear) of Chicago themed items so when it's time, I'll be ready!

I still have to upload Chicago's pictures and I'll probably start that scrapbook after I complete Disney 2007.

I'm so behind it's crazy! I have to think like someone facing sobriety, I'm gonna take it one theme at a time.

Happy Scrapping!

And I hope you rid of those ants soon!

Lisa,

When you do Disney do you do it by day or by a theme (ie Mickey photos, a certain ride/restaurant)? I've never tackled a vacation one so I don't know where to begin. At first I thought doing it by day but then I thought doing themes would be fun.

I'm crazy behind as well. But I keep telling myself that once the girls go back to school, I am going to spend some serious time getting caught up!

Behind! I bet that I have most of you beat! My youngest starts Kindergarten this year and I keep saying that once he is in school I will have time to get cuaght up on my scrap books and just get all my pictures in order. My oldest daughters baby book is up to date (age 7) and my son's book has a few pictures and some entries. I have thoughts scribbled down and I need to find time to write it out. Oh and I might add that he just turned 6 - so you can see that I am way behind. I haven't even got our Disney pictures from December 2008. But, we have looked at them a few times. I have so many projects to work on once school starts. I wish in a way that our school district had all day kindergarten.

I am crazy behind on scrapping! That is something I am going to tackle in September when things calm down a little bit.

When I do Disney, I typically do it by theme. We park hop a lot and organizing by theme rather than day works best for me.

Thanks for the tip Carla. We hop alot too so I am thinking theme. Plus I think when I was doing the free print offers I was grouping my photos by themes for pages.

I started a shutterfly photobook for the Europe vacation. I think getting it done like this first will make the scrapping easier. I like the 8x8 photobook to carry with me and the scrapbook to really get into the details and stories.

Cate,

I do each park seperately in it's own book. I bought a beautiful Mickey scrapbook and then color coordinate with the others. Say the main bookcover is decorated with Mickey with a lot red in it so the other books are red.

Now with other vacation locations I do by day. Like I start off with us leaving the neighborhood, riding in the car, the kids asleep (always hilarious), the hotel and then I start by putting all the same themes together, like The Navy Pier, Sears Tower, etc. Then I end the journey with the ride home.

O, my first page is normally a map of where we are heading. HTH and it's not too confusing.

I really tried to not take as many pictures this past trip. I tried to use only one Sim card, but.....I ended up using 4!!! I may have a little less than 2000 photos. Maybe.

At least I did better than our last Disney trip: 2800 photos!

I bought some things to start a scrap book for my son's wedding 2 years ago and it's all still sitting here is a box. I now have a granddaughter and would like to start scrap booking for her too. My problem is, I don't know where to start. It seems so overwhelming with so much out there to choose from. I think I might have bought a book about how to scrapbook, but maybe I was just thinking about it!

Does it help to take a class to get started? Is there a good website that tells you how to get started or when you guys started did you just jump in and experiment? I've done a lot of crafts over the years, but I feel so lost with this!

I just jumped in and started going with it. I found the more I did it, the more creative and fun my pages got.
