Just wanted to share something that happened today that made my son's day! He started having an earache this weekend so today we stayed home from work and school so we could go to the doctor. After the dr. appointment we went to Walgreens to get his prescription filled.
While we were waiting, a lady walked up to us with a Rubik's Revolution toy. She asked my son if he'd seen those, and if they were cool. He told her he'd seen a commercial, and they look really cool but he'd never played. She told me they were on sale and she thought it was a pretty good deal. We chatted a few seconds, then went back to sit and wait on the prescription. While we were still waiting (what takes so long? ha ha) she came back to us and handed my son a bag with the Rubik's Revolution. She said that was for him, she was buying a few and thought why not buy one more? He was very surprised and we both thanked her as she left. My son couldn't believe his good fortune. I explained that he received a random act of kindness and that he should pay it forward. He wanted to find her and buy her a Hershey bar! I told him she'd left the store, and that it was best if we pick a stranger to be kind to next. Hours later he was still talking about it, he said "I just can't get over how nice that lady was". She really made his day! Made me think how easy it can be to really improve someones day - we'll certainly try to repay the favor sometime soon! LyndaM |

I love random acts of kindness. I have a friend who has 6 kids. They were on vacation and eating at Bob Evans. When they asked for the bill, the waitress said it was already taken care of by another patron who had already left. It meant ALOT to them! 6 kids is NOT cheap to feed!
I am glad this made such an impression on you boy! |

I need to remember to try to that more often. It is a good thing for children to see and it always makes the giver feel good.
What a great story, thanks |

Thanks for sharing!!
It's so nice to hear about someone doing something good........especially when all we ever seem to hear about in the news is people hurting each other! What a great lesson that woman's gesture taught your son! ![]()

How nice!!! I too need to remember to take the time to do things like this. How did your son pay it forward out of curiosity?? I love stories like this...
