Can someone tell me after you make a purchase how long does it take to show up in your account history. I could not find that answer. Thanks for any help.

It depends on the merchant - some show up the next day, some longer. Is there a specific merchant you're wondering about?

Sometimes the credits won't pend until the item is shipped, so if you ordered something that won't ship for a few days, the credits might not show up until your purchase is on the way.
Weekends and holidays can also delay credits, and I expect there were a lot of purchases made over the past few days.
