Just some reasons I'll be voting for the democratic "Obamanee"

Mending our international reputation by communicating with world leaders
Reform the unfunded "no child left behind,"
Universal health care,
Removal from Iraq,
Only candidate who opposed the summer gas tax suspension plan that was blasted by economists
Expanding FMLA to include workers at companies with 25, not 50 workers
Raise the minimum wage
Create $4,000 college tax credit
Increase fuel economy standards
Eliminate income taxes for seniors making less than 50K a year

All of these goals are detailed at
http://www.barackobama.com/issues/

I hope everyone who votes will take time to educate themselves on the issues before they vote and not just go in and pull a lever, rely on the TV spin or, even worse, consider emails with so-called "facts." Read up on the issues, watch the debates - It's our patriotic duty and honor to vote and we should do it with highest responsibility, no matter which candidate you support. (jumping off my soapbox now...)

Personally, I love all the pohone calls that keep knocking me off the internet. (My phone is that crazy GHZ thing)

I feel well informed of the facts also, but my interpretation of the facts is not leading me toward Obama, certainly. I know McCain has some minuses, and some people are mad or disgusted that he isn't going to just immediately withdraw our troops from Iraq. However, he understands that that would not work very well; too quick or too disorganized a withdrawal is going to create even deeper problems. I don't think he really means that our troops will be there '100 years' - I think he means that some will be there until the situation is more suited to a complete withdrawal. We aren't necessarily 'losing' the war, even if it has been bungled in certain ways. I think he is a better candidate for effectively managing the war and the withdrawal. That is MY opinion of course which many may not agree with, and may think paints me as a warmonger or whatever - I do not like the war and never have, but immediate withdrawal simply strikes me as too simplistic and unreasonable a solution to the situation. I don't know that Obama really understands that - or has a very clear foreign policy understanding either. Hope no one is offended - and I will get of my soapbox now too!

I don't know that when anyone says "immediate withdrawal", they mean we are going to pack up all our toys and go home that day. I think that means start the process of leaving, but then again, I don't know, I'm not in their heads, and what people say up on that podium isn't what they will necessarily do when they are sitting in the oval office. Plus, they just can't do what they want, they do have a Congress to deal with.

What I'd like to see are the stats of the children or grandchildren that are in Iraq that have a parent in Congress. I'll bet you'll see a big O.

I did a search and could only find info for two years ago. It said there was a half dozen. John McCain's son is currently serving in the marines I believe.

Two years ago. lol C'mon, surely they have more current stats then that. Were they actually in Iraq or in the service. McCains son has to be my age, and I can't see him in Iraq. Heck, I have a hard time throwing my legs over the edge of the bed in the morning. I want to see stats of the ones actually stationed in Iraq, fighting beside our boys.

I was curious about this and just searched for McCain's son. Jimmy was 18 in 2006 when he joined the marines, so he's around 20 now. Guess they didn't disclose ALL the meds John was taking when they released his medical records last week, like maybe a little purple pill.

I couldn't find like a list or anything. Just some articles, but at that time they were serving in the war. Who knows how many still are.

McCain's son was in Iraq. The article said that the McCain's don't talk about it much because they don't want him to end up a target. I don't think he is there now, but he was.

2008-20 years old would have made McCain 51 when his son was born. Little blue pill then, probably not. Now.......I don't even want to think about it
