If you aren’t familiar with Club Penguin, it is a free online virtual world where kids can play in a safe environment. Although the game is aimed at 6-14 year olds, I know a lot of parents who find themselves wanting to play along with their kids. One of the best things about it is that there are a number of safeguards in place to prevent kids from sharing personal information (even inadvertently) with other players. Kids can play mini games for free but if they want to accumulate clothes and other items, they will need a monthly membership.

I asked my 8-year-old to tell me in her own words about Club Penguin. She said “It’s this really fun game where you go around playing and earning coins and get to buy fun outfits.” I guess that sums it up! Try Club Penguin for free and tell us what you think.

First of all, you can order in any quantity. You can personalize just one tin for one person or use the same design for hundreds or even thousands. The more that you order the less they cost per product. But even if you are only ordering one or two, the price is still reasonable. Second, the site was incredibly easy to use. I pulled a picture of my daughter after she got her braces off from my cell phone. Uploaded it and sized it in one minute. She chose a colored background and the colors of the Jelly Belly jelly beans that she wanted. Done!

I can think of so many uses for these. Looking for an inexpensive but personal way to thank teachers? In the video below you can see how incredibly easy it was for me to integrate the wig into my own hair. The color match is almost perfect, and all I did to figure out which one to get was to look really closely at the color samples on the Vogue Wigs website and read the descriptions. It took me less than a minute to snap the wrap into my hair and pin it. Although I didn’t show it in the video, I could have used my curling iron or flat iron to add some wave to the ponytail when I was done.
