We’ve never posted a music video in the Sunshine Rewards videoblog before, but there is a first time for everything. For those of you who are Disney fans, this is a must watch! If you are a Weird Al Yankovic fan–even better!

Weird Al’s new song “Skipper Dan” is all about a man who has dreams of being an actor but ends up as the “tour guide” on Disney’s Jungle Cruise. I have to say that I love the Jungle Cruise. I especially love to ride it at night. The jokes are corny and some of the effects are looking outdated, but it is classic Disney and good family fun. So no disrespect to the Jungle Cruise! But the song is really cute. I especially love the part about “the back of water.” And the fact that he uses “IMDB” as a verb, something that I do all the time.

We purchased two ifrogz for our son for Christmas last year. After the tragic loss of his first iPod due to damage to its screen, we decided that it might be a good idea to invest in a good cover for iPod #2. ifrogz are wonderfully priced and have certainly done the job. With so many choices, it was easy to find something that made his iPod unique. He has a black and red one with a taekwondo decal and a two tone blue one with an icthus decal. He loves them both, and because they are so easy to remove, he can change the look of his iPod whenever he wants. But, don’t take my word for it. Iron Jawed Angels features an all-star cast including Hilary Swank, Anjelica Huston, Frances O’Connor,
Patrick Dempsey, and Julia Ormond. Produced by HBO, the official movie description states that it tells “the true story of how a pair of defiant and brilliant young activists took the women’s suffrage movement by storm, putting their lives at risk to help American women win the right to vote.” From what I have read, this includes the U.S. government imprisoning and force feeding women.

Unfortunately, it is hard to get your hands on this movie. I suspect it is in part because we are nearing a historic election and women everywhere are (wisely) getting more interested in the importance of voting. Although it will not ship for 2-4 weeks, if you are trying to figure out where to buy Iron Jawed Angels, you can order new from DeepDiscount.com or HBO and used from eBay. If you are a member of Blockbuster, you can add it to your queue.

The girls played around with it for a few weeks and then we packed it away as we prepared to sell our house. This summer, we pulled it back out again. To my surprise, my seven year old daughter was able to pick up right where she left off last summer and start learning again. After about a month of playing a little each day, she was working through the levels–playing with both hands and starting to actually read the music.

If you read the Sunshine Rewards videoblog much, you know that my kids love to make videos. My daughter has been bugging me for weeks to let her to a video on Piano Wizard. I’ve been a little reluctant because I didn’t think that we could adequately show everything that the system does. However, I came across this video today that I think does show the whole system and how it works.
