FetchDog DogTags Chewy Shoes Dog Toy on Oprah

On May 15, Oprah and Glenn Close will be discussing the Puppies Behind Bars DogTags Program. Puppies Behind Bars trains prison inmates to raise service dogs for people with physical or psychological disabilities. Some of the dogs are then used in the DogTags program, which prepares service dogs for U.S. soldiers coming home from Afghanistan and Iraq.

The video below shows more about the Puppies Behind Bars program. As shown on the Oprah Winfrey Show, $2 from the purchase of every DogTags Chewy Shoe is donated to the DogTags program. Sunshine Rewards Donates to Make-a-Wish Foundation

Earlier this year as a part of our Donation Station, our members donated $360 of their credits to the Make-a-Wish Foundation. Today was the day that we called in to our local radio station and donated the credits as a part of their Request-a-Thon. We matched the member donations and rounded up to make a total donation of $750.

Below is a quick video about my experience making the donation. In it, I talk about the Disney connections to our donation. I forgot to mention that the song I requested on our behalf was “Walkin’ on Sunshine.” It was great to be a part of something so important. I sincerely thank our members for their participation and hope that we can continue to raise money at Sunshine Rewards for important causes.

American Girl Doll Mia in Sunshine Rewards Auction

We are pleased to once again be able to offer an American Girl Doll as a part of our Sunshine Rewards Auctions for charity. This month’s doll is Mia, the Girl of the Year for 2008. She comes new in the box, with a paperback book.

The proceeds from the auction will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for life. Bidding will close on December 4, and the doll will be shipped so that you receive it before Christmas.

Sunshine Rewards Auctions Kit American Girl Doll for Charity

Each month Sunshine Rewards chooses a charity and allows members to donate their credits to that charity. In addition, we put up items in our Reward Auction for which all of the credits will go toward the charity of the month. Members can bid on auction items using their Sunshine Rewards credits.
This month we are fortunate enough to be featuring a brand new Kit American Girl Doll in our auction. With the release last week of the movie Kit Kittredge: An American Girl, Kit has become a very popular doll. The proceeds from the auction of the doll will be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

Here’s a short video of my daughter with her own Kit Kittredge doll. You can see the very doll that we will be auctioning off, complete with Kit’s paperback book. We are incredibly excited to be auctioning off such a hot item for charity this month!

Sunshine Rewards Supports Best Friends Animal Society

Every few months, Sunshine Rewards picks a new charity to feature. This month we are choosing one that is near and dear to my heart, the Best Friends Animal Society.

Members of Sunshine Rewards can make donations in $5 intervals from their Sunshine Rewards accounts by visiting the Donation Station. Sunshine Rewards will match these donations up to $500. In addition, we are gathering special promotions from merchants such as FetchDog.com, PawsUpPetSupply.com, and Petsmart.
