Waiting for Disney GD and mailbox knocked down!!!!

Just need to VENT!!! We woke up this morning to the police out in front of our house talking to some of our neighbors. Our mailbox and 6 others in our subdivision were destroyed last night by a car running them over!!!!!
All I could think about was my Disney Gift Card that I am waiting for!!!! I think I will sit out front all day and wait for the mailman!!!!! I am so worried I will miss it and it will get misplaced. I don't know what to do. I know we can't get another mailbox in until at least Sunday, what if it comes today or tomorrow?:(:(:(

UGH! I feel for you - our mailbox suffered the same fate on Tuesday morning. Fortunately it was a clean break off, so my DH was able to put it back up with a boat load of long wood screws...until we get around to replacing it. It's so frustrating to have to deal with! Is there anyway you can call the post office and ask them to set your mail aside so you can just pick it up? I'm pretty sure they can do that.

:(:(:(I am going to call the post office right now. DH works 2 jobs and coaches DS baseball team and DD softball team. So I don't think we can get a new one in until Sunday. He looked and it this morning and we are not able to temporarily fix it.
Our subdivision was hit last month by car theives. They were breaking in and stealing GPS and DVDE players etc. I guess we felt too confortable here in our nice little suburb and were leaving our cars unlocked.
Now it was our mailboxes and two car windows were broken.

Ugh! I hate people who do crap like that. I think you can ask the post office to hold your mail for you for a certain period of time and not be charged so that might be the best route for you to get thru until Monday.

yuck!! I can't stand people that have no respect for other's property!! Thankfully no one was hurt.

That stinks, but I'm chuckeling because that sounds like something that would happen to me! I'm waiting for mine too and we go on vacation tomorrow. I didn't get mine today and we live in WI (the midwest like Tricia) and I was hoping it would be here by now. Oh well. :rolleyes:

I would go to the post office and see what they can do. I know it stinks to have to add "replace the mailbox" to the to-do list with an already busy family schedule!

Just to update everyone. I had my DS get the mailbox to stand up just for that one day. I had a feeling the Disney Gift Cards would be coming. Guess what , they did!! Yeah! I was so worried they would get lost if they were brought back to the post office. It was very exciting getting my first reward.! So it all worked out. That is just my luck though, to have my mailbox knocked down by thugs the day I was hoping to get my reward.
