So tonight at 8:00 DH announces as soon as dinner is being put on the table he is going to run to walmart to buy a new video game. He is a police officer and this is one of his weeks working nights, but he is off tonight and didn't want to be bored when everyone was sleeping.
So instead of just smiling and nodding, I offer to go to Best Buy to pick it up for him, so that I could do buy online pick up in the store and get my 2% back.
So I have just put dinner on the table and I am in my pajamas. I hurry and go change leave my dinner on the table and race to Best Buy before they close.
45 mins later I am back home with his game. I know normal people would think I was crazy, which I probably am. It was only 1.40 cash back, but I'm sure you guys would understand. I just couldn't stand for DH to go spend 70 dollars on a video game and me not get any sunshine money for it!
Well I guess I will go eat my cold dinner before I do my daily survey.

OMG you are too funny! Is Walmart not a ship to store and receive credits merchant?
I did luck out last week though. I went to pick up Guitar Hero Aerosmith at BestBuy from my online shopping and when I got there they had pulled the wrong one and I not only got SR credit but I got $10 off right then too! Definitely worth it.

Yes Walmart you can ship to store, but DH wanted the game tonight.... no way to convince him to wait until morning, much less for them to ship it to the store. So I figured I race to Best Buy, because he wasn't going until after he ate and Walmart would still be open for him, or just deal with him spending money that I couldn't get cash back on. As you can see I have my priorities straight.... sunshine money.... forget dinner !
That's awesome about the $10 !

Oh I never realized they wouldn't/couldn't pull stuff off the shelves at walmart. Well good choice going with best buy.

Too funny! Your DH reminds me of mine. He is working nights this week also. Last night he was home and he stayed up doing stuff around the house, well that and playing video games!!
BTW- which game did your DH choose?

I'm not the only one!!!
I did this one a couple of months ago... DH NEEDED a game... so even though he wanted to go to frys... I convinced him to relax while I went out to best buy to pick it up... I'm such a sweet wife to do that for him :)
though I probably did it more for my SR

Battlefield: Bad Company Gold Edition , yet another war game. When he was in Iraq at war..... he still wanted me to mail him war video games, you would have thought he wasn't seeing much action, but he was.

Never heard of it. DH likes some of those games too. Right now we are at the end of Lego's Star Wars and Indy is waiting for us to finish! I love video games:D

I can so see myself doing this too. I have started tofind my shopping credits picking up. At first I really thought I was doing a lot more shopping and was getting worried, but I think I'm doing less in store and more online so it's more SR funds!

I can totally picture many people on here doing the same thing. Although many probably would have just gone in their pajamas!

My DH knows not to buy anything without checking with me first! He is always asking "so how can we get rewards for this" :rotfl:

We loved Lego star wars... we just started playing Indy... unfortuately we are having a crashing problem... hopefully they will put out a patch soon... but we just reboot and keep playing... the game is great.

I can totally sympathize.. Both DH and DS have waited an extra day or two for something that we COULD have bought in the store but money wise it worked out better to buy on SR. DH doesn't complain too much but man DS sure wasn't thrilled with me! lol

Over a dollar in credit! That's huge! I once needed some paper for my printer. That is ALL I needed. I could have gone everywhere. But I checked around online, and found a ream for a good price at Circuit City, so I ordered it through there and got, oh gosh, 4 cents SR? Something like that?
And one Sunday we were looking at the paper and hubby saw a flash drive he thought was cool. Something like 7 bucks. So I ordered it, again through CC, and the next day we went and got it. It's hilarious, the tiny credits one can get excited about. :)
But the SR % for a videogame is definitely worth it!

We just bought a Wii, tonight, at Walmart. It was sort of a spur of the moment thing and not. After getting back from Disney, we had decided to buy one as a family. We each put in a hundred dollars. I hope that will offset any fighting. I have already told the girls that if I hear them fighting or one of them hogging it, Miss Wii goes in time out for a wk. Anyway, tonight we were grocery shopping, at Walmart. I usually go around and check to see if they have a Wii. They never do. But, tonight, they had 4. I knew enough to know they are hard to come by and I wasn't likely going to get shopping credit. So, we bought it. And, one game. No accessories. I am saving that for SR credit.:D

Good for you! I love getting SR credit! I have done a couple pick up at store items. I need to surf their sites and see if there are more things to purchase, that I would ALREADY be purchasing.

$1.40 is huge! My DD complains everytime I make her go through SR to buy a song through Itunes. It's a 3 cent credit for very 99 cent song! But that's 3 more cents I didn't have before and if she's ordering songs anyway I might as well get it.
Have a great day everyone!

I can totally relate! We have a Best Buy right across the street and I do all my shopping through here before running over there. One trip when I went to pick up the stuff, I found 2 other things we needed. Rather than buy them right there, I went home, ordered them on line through SR and then went back to the store!

The girls played until I made them go to bed (we are going to Beech Bend - a local amusement park, this morning). That was like midnight. I woke up at 6 to let the dog out and noticed DD13's door closed. Thought cats were probably trapped in there. Opened the door and there she sat, playing on Toon Town. She was so excited she woke up before 5. They are both up now and on the Wii.

We haven't downloaded off Itunes, yet, but good to know. That is a 1st place scratch off and we all get excited if we only get a cent.
Have a great day everyone!

Ours is 30 minutes away so I usually get the free shipping things. But, wow, I would love to live that close. I could stroll around, come home, buy, and go back. Of course, it would make spending money easier, something I don't have a problem with, anyway.

Same here. DD13 has a GC for I-tunes. Everytime she wants a song, I go through SR and "order" it. It only takes an extra minute, but that 0.03 is worth it!!
That reminds me, she wanted to buy another song:D

ebay for grocery store gift certificates?
We need a new landline phone (ours are possesed). I have gotten Mom to agree that we need to get one from a "real store." There were no landlines in Best Buy's circular last week. Dmom did not get why we couldn't just go in and buy a land line. :rotfl::rotfl:

Got ours from Overstock, last fall. 3 phones with speakers and I don't know what else because I just use it to make phone calls. But, the girls, especially DD10 uses hers as a speakerphone while she plays online with her friends. Night before last, she was using it to play online with her sister, who was in the next room. Anyway, could have bought it at Target but got it at Overstock when they were having a $1 shipping wkend and of course, I went thru SR.

My husband knows that nothing gets bought till he checks with me first. He was happy to hear that Camping World was on SR......and so was I.
That is a great idea...I didn't know you could order online with BestBuy and go right in to pick it up. I figured it was like Walmart where you had to wait a week or more for it to come in....
That is what I will do from now on when my kids just have to have a game...lol:sunshine2:

I've lost it! Dh was saying last week how he wanted to get a new flat screen panel tv.....I immediately start thinking "YES! Best Buy in store pick-up!!" Then our grill broke yesterday and instead of getting upset about it, I get happy and start thinking how I better stock up on Home Depot GCs now :rotfl:
