Anyone have any experience with this?
I love these types of programs (because my daughter does)...We've done the Reader Rabbit ones and I think we've done some of the jump start programs in the past...just wondered how this one worked.

I am in the process of trying to do this for DD5. Man oh man is this a long download. Once you download it I assume you have to give them a credit card in order to access the program and you have a 5 day trial period for free. After that they charge 15.98 for the first two packs and then 7.99 for each additional one. There are 12 packs total. You aren't required to purchase all of them. Buy as many or as few as you like. HTH! I will let you know whats up if it ever finishes downloading.

I'm still debating as it's only a $1 and I know if I sign up we'll be keeping it....:rotfl:
Do you know if it's a one time download or if it can be put on different computers? If I could put it on her computer and the one in my classroom (so she'd have something to do while I'm working), then it would look a little better. :)

Holy Canoli!!!! I have spent less time making .80 on surveys than I just spent on this one to make a dollar and I haven't even gotten credit yet or finished the process. Wow I need a redo on this one. :rotfl:

This one won't even let me open the page! I get so sick of seeing the not available in your area message. :( I wanted it for my little cousin. Although given the problems Janet is having with the download maybe it is just as well.

The download is over 400MB!!! I just ordered the free cd. If I don't get the credit then oh well. I wasn't going to spend all evening downloading that large of a program just for a trial (and only $1 at that!)
I am anxious to try it out for my boys.

OK I feel like a took one for the team on this one. Cute program but man is it slow and it locks everything else up so don't plan on doing anything else while this is going on. Not really worth the 1.00 trial offer reward but if you are looking for this type of program anyway it is really cute. (frustrating, but cute)

I'm glad you jumped in ahead of me.... :rotfl:
I'd be interested in knowing if the CD purchase would get the $1 credit too....

I haven't done this offer... We started with this program a few months ago...
My daughter loves it! There are 12 packets per grade level... I bought the whole thing at once to save some money since I knew after the trial that my kid loved it. She flew through the kindergarten level...and is half way through the first grade level. You can only put it on one computer, and it has to be an internet connected computer (to download further packets).
It has been a way for my younger one to be entertained in a good way while I tutor my older child (who wishes there was a 5th grade level). It has given me an opening to tutor my younger child, as the games don't teach the material, so much as test on the material... it lets me know what skills she needs to learn, and what she already knows... and she is more willing to sit down and have a lesson on some topic, knowing it will help her with the game.
There are some annoying bits... things I don't think a first grader should have to know... they expect reading a few packets into first grade, so I've had to sit by her a few times to read for her, but even so she has remained interested in the game for a couple of months.

I haven't seen anything come through on it yet. If I don't see any soon, I'll email them Monday to see what is up.

Anyone else do this one? I did it and I never got credit which wasn't any biggie but now I am having all kinds of trouble with the service. I decided to keep it and let them charge me the 15.98 for the 1st two packs. They preauthorized my card but now I cant access the game or my account. I tried calling and cant ever get anyone on the phone. Finally reached someone today and she couldnt figure out what the issue was and had to email someone else and said she would call me back. It has been hours and no word yet. Has anyone had good success with this program or should I just make them cancel it and be done with it?

I've never used it online, but the CDs that you can buy are great. My daughter has always loved them.

We did the whole Kindergarten series with no problem...
When we went to do the first grade...we ordered the packet of two levels, and they preauthorized my credit card (the charge didn't go through) and I couldn't get access to the service...(makes sense since they didn't get paid)...
After two days on the phone (my kid really really loves this game) they finally got someone with a brain on the phone, and I had to redo my order since the first one didn't go through...
The tech support people are pretty good.... the billing people seem pretty smart... the people you get on the phone have no clue... I kept having to re explain my situation, and wait for the phone dummy to communicate with someone else for the answer...and I kept calling back every couple of hours to encourage them to find an answer....and the phone dummies had a hard time understanding the problem... I know if I could have talked to one of the billing people directly, I could have straigtened this out in no time...it was the phone tech in the middle that made a mess of it...
ooops sorry...started ranting there...you have to decide if your kid likes it enough to go through the pain... if you get through this, you should be good for a while...
hopefully I won't have to talk to them again in a year when I need the 2nd grade level. :computer:
