CC charge from MarketLabs??

Does anyone know who this could be from? It just appeared as a pre-authorization pending on my Credit Card. I have looked back and can't seem to find who this could be from. I have not done any paid signups in a few weeks. Anyone have any information on this?

Well, I don't think it is from Blockbuster. I have had an account with them for over a year, I use a different card for them, and it always shows up as Blockbuster. I did just read on google that there is a long list of people being charged from "marketlabs" and the list of companies that are associated with them is long. I have looked back to see if I have ever been charged from this company before and I did have the same 'pre authorization' charge on May 30th...same day that I done the Video Proffessor offer. I actually had 2 charges that day one from Marketlabs and then Video professor right after that. But I don't have any other info on the marketlabs, no phone number to call or anything. This is so frustrating!!:computer:

I believe it is disney book club. My mom got the same one and because there was a fraud alert on them the cc company closed my moms card because of it.

Video Professor would not surprise me. I hate that offer. I only run it because the other sites do and people are always asking me for it.

Did you do any of the disney book club or disney movie club offers? When I did Disney Movie club I had a preauthorization on my card from them but it dropped off fairly quickly and they never charged anything.

No, I did not do either of those Disney offers. I find it odd that I had the same charge almost 2 months ago. That is why I am thinking it had to come from the offer that I did on that same day and that maybe they are just trying to get more money from unsuspecting customers....talk about Fraud! I wish I had a phone number to Marketlabs so that I could find out what is going on.

Well, I called my CC Company this morning to ask about the charge and she assured me that there was no actual charges against my account. That it was just a pre-authorization. So I told her I understood and anytime that they have done a 'pre-authorization' before that they have always posted an actual charge right after. She once again said there are no actual charges showing with it. So after a day or two the 'pre authorization' will expire and no money will be taken out of my account. Okay well that is fine and all but why would someone be pre authorizing on my account. I still don't feel too good about this. I guess I have no choice but to wait and see what they try to charge and then call CC company back....Bad thing is it is a debit card, so they will be taking my money!! UUUUGGG....:computer:

I was contacted by my credit card company today about a charge from MarketLabs that looked fraudulent. Grrr.... I did the Scholastic book offer on the same day so I am guessing that it was where it came from. I'm doing some research and will report back with what I find.

I just checked my account again and the charge was reversed. So I have no idea what it was all about but so far no other charges. I will keep a close eye on my account for awhile just to make sure.
