I tried to set up an account over at Mom's and they have dial-up:computer:
UUUGGGHHH!!! 2 hours later and I'm still not done! I came home and tried to set her up because it was taking way to long on her computer. I filled out the sign-up sheet and put my member in. It came up saying "already a member" but wouldn't take password. Is there a way to check to see if she's registered, or maybe change password, or start over altogether:confused:Her provider is through AOL. We're trying to make sure I get credit. I also don't understand the sign-up banner page. Can you help?

Have her submit a Trouble Ticket - account inquiry type ticket to see if she is signed up and to get her password.

Now the other part - please don't sign into your account on her computer or her account on your computer at each of your houses. This flags your account for duplicate IP addresses and you can get banned by SR for that.

I would think the reason you couldn't complete the sign up for her on your account is because you already have an account on that IP address. You can not share computers between members because so much is tracked by IP address. If you have ever used her computer to anything for SR you may not be able to sign her up.

I didn't even think about the IP Address Issue. Thanks for the reminder! I 'd be sad to get booted off SR. I'm going to Disney the week of 10/12 and the earned cards are great. I wonder if Mom opened a free email account with Yahoo (she's not happy with her current provider). When we did try to sign her on it said "user name already in use" or "email address already in use", can't remember which. We could take care of both issues at once. It would be as if she's a brand-new registered user, right? Thanks a million!

That sounds like the problem, if I understand you correctly. Your already a member but then tried to sign her up using "my member in" and it's saying already a member be it thinks it's you and wants your info.
That's what Janet and Catherine were saying about the IP's it's tracking your IP and won't recognize anything new you put in.

That's what I'm thinking. I'll go over when I have time. She has dial-up so we'll be there a while:computer: Thanks again!
