Getting SR points for giftcards

My husband's cousin is director of a daycare center for homeless kids in Houston, which was damaged greatly by the hurricane. The extended family is pitching in and sending giftcards to help them buy everything from snacks to toys to office supplies. We're planning to get a Walmart or Target giftcard. Can I get SR points, too?

In the shop by category section under Shopping you will find a category for Gift Card/Certificates. These are the merchants that will give credit on gift card purchases. I don't think that Walmart or Target are there but Kmart, Sears, Home Depot, and Kohl's are there. What a wonderful thing to do!
