Got A Visa Gift Card?

I received a $10 Visa Gift Debit Card in the mail today and i have NO clue where it came from...anyone? the address is program headquarters, p.o. box 117, lemont, IL 60439. i googled the address and it came back to "the giving tree" which i've never heard of. the activation site is svcards.com, which is secured by godaddy.com. i hesitate to activate it without knowing where it came from. it's a silver card with a navy & gold ribbon bow on it. anyone gotten one of these or know who the culprit is? :thanks:

IIRC, people were getting those because they sent in the form at the end of MID/Aisle 7 offers.

Yup what Heather said, got one today also. It's my 4th or 5th one. You had to send in that certificate after a MID offer to get one.

I got one today also. I took the advice of some members of the forum and actually sent in one of the certificates from one of the MID offers. I figured the only thing it was going to cost me was 42 cents. Kind of a nice surprise.

It's a confirmation email from myfree. The link in there gives you the certificate to send in.

It's not at the end of the offer it's in the confirmation email. Looks like a certificate almost. It has the address etc on where you should mail it.

I've gotten three of them so far. If you're buying something that's over $10, just tell the cashier you want to put 10 on that card and then use a different card or payment method.

Watch the expiration date. I think you have around 3 months to use it normally. You can get around that by using it to buy yourself a gift card to your favorite store.

I noticed that when I tried to activate the card online, I was rejected @ the walmart checkout, but when I called the activation phone #, it worked fine. :)

I got the Yankee Candle - it was a votive. Mango Peach Salsa or something like that. Smelled good!

Sounds like me, last year. Finally got some cards out this year...new years cards...sent them out for Lunar (Asian) New Year. Thankfully hubby is Korean so it didn't seem so bad, LOL.

Just an FYI...
I received mine the other day. I activated it that same day. I used it in Target today with no problem at all. My total was $33.XX and I used that one first and the cashier said ok you now owe 23.xx. I didn't tel her $10 or anything at all, just swiped it.

I think the key is to make sure you activate it (I do mine online) and wait at LEAST 24 hrs before trying to use it.

Nope it automatically goes through as credit, I usually swipe it before they hit anything but I think if they do ask I usually say credit since I don't have/know a pin attached to it. I usually have to sign and then if I owe anymore I swipe my card.

Only way to find out is to use an envelope and .42 stamp. If it were me I would give it a try.

It was the Brandarama Popeyes Chicken. At the end, it thanked me for my address details and said that my claim form for getting the card was in a pdf. I opened it and found a pretty standard form in which I release them from liability and understand they might subsitute a gift of the same value. I was flabbergasted, to say the least.

Well, i did it, but the end page was just blank, no thanks for address. And in my emails from them, I just got links to show me the big offers I would need to show them I completed and then I would send in forms to get my $50 giftcard.

Oh well! :)

Now fingers are crossed that I just got the credit for the .30. :)

Did you follow the directions for activating it, then waiting at least 24 hours for the transaction "to take?" That's the only thing I can think of. I had no trouble with the one I used so far, but I made sure to wait a couple of days after activation.

Same thing as Spring, I activate it and wait at least 2-3 days, especially if I activated it on a weekend. Also they have an expiration date so make sure it didn't expire.

I just did this on Tuesday. I activated my Visa gift card online (maybe 2 weeks ago) and it went through without a hitch. They didn't even ask if it was to be processed as a debit or credit. Maybe try again in a few days? Good luck.

I have mailed more than one on the same day - I'm not really sure if it matters, I haven't been keeping track of what I send in, when I send it in or when I receive the product.

Give it a try - it's only $.42 to mail plus the cost of the envelope.
