Just a heads up....people have reported on the dis about getting a flyer in the mail or an email for 40% off. The thread over there has people saying it's a Passholder thing & others say they got it & aren't AP holders...the thread also states that it isn't a PIN code, but then people say it is.

So take that info & do w/it what you want....but just wanted to let you know about the discount & it is out there for some.

I did get the email & it said, "As a passholder...." & DH got one too so it's clear we got the PIN code Passholder version of the 40% off code. I'm going to call today, but I'm pretty sure the free dining I got as a BB offer back in October is better for us....but I'm still going to check!!

It says it's for the Value resorts, but it also states to ask about moderates & deluxes too. The dates are

most Sunday-Thursday nights:
Jan. 4-Jan. 15, 2009
Jan. 25-Feb. 12, 2009
Mar. 1-Mar. 12, 2009
May 31-Jun. 4, 2009

For stays most nights:
Aug. 23-Oct. 3, 2009
Oct. 25-Oct. 31, 2009
Nov. 15-Nov. 21, 2009
Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2009
Dec. 13-Dec. 24, 2009

Anyway, check your mail, check your emails & check your junk in-box! You never know, a Disney trip may be in your future!!

I got it in the mail yesterday but my AP expired last October? Weird thing though, it had my address but someone else's name? It was just really strange to me that I would get this in the first place, I just ripped it up and tossed it as we are DVC members and don't stay in the regular resorts anyway and would have no use for it. It did have a pin code over the address label that it said to mention when making a reservation.

Oh - I think DH would kill me if I booked another trip to Disney. I promised him that we would go somewhere other than Disney this year. But, then again I did have my fingers crossed behind my back. ;)

Shoot! Would be my luck to get this code. I am about 95% sure I am going to get a new car, in the next few months, so this is not the time to go to Disney. Plus, I think we will do Chicago either Fall Break 09 or Spring Break 10, so we need to save.

I got this yesterday (email) and I do have an AP (heck who knows why/who gets these!) I have been hoping to sneak in a long weekend in March (my sister wants to also go before she has the baby end of June) so our timeframe is limited due to her flying. Not sure is these dates will work for us, but also holding out for some AP rates.......fingers crossed!!

Man, ya'll stink getting the free dining bb code. All I got was 20% off bb. Somebody's been sucking up to Tinkerbell.

don't feel bad. The only one I've ever been emailed was one last year that had something to do with bringing kids (mine didn't count cuz she's 17). My bounceback code was 20% off room-only and only for selected dates. The only good codes I get are through Disney Visa or a AAA discount. Do you have either of those 2 cards?

I have had both of them for years, plus am in their system for cruises and resort stays, Disney Movie Rewards, vacation planning DVD order...all of it. Who knows.

Well I think this time I got the 40% code only because I'm now an AP holder & I registered both of our emails. Now I have friends who are AP holders & they haven't gotten the code & then there are people on the dis that say they aren't AP holders & did get the code.

It's frustrating....but last year at this time I was all jealous of my SIL who got the code & this year I got it not her....:D not being spiteful or anything, but Ha!! I got it! I got it!! :cooldance:

I still have to call, because I want to see if maybe, just maybe we should just oh I don't know....upgrade to a deluxe!!

Just FYI.... if anyone else is military like we are..... you get 40% off room rates for stays before 12/23/09 and the military member gets a free ticket and up to 5 $99 dollar tickets for family and friends.

DD and I are going to go for 8 days in August for our bdays!

What is a BB code? I guess we are missing out because I've never received free dinging plan or codes like this. We go yearly and we have a Disney credit card. Where do you get codes like this?
When I saw the dates for the 40% I groaned though. We are going the last of January hoping for low crowds. That same week is on the 40% off list. Might mean more people. I have heard that a lot of the value resorts are pretty booked though.

i was just reading on another boards about the free military tickets, so i did some more reading and found the military 40% discount on the room rates.

so i booked for oct 4-10. i get the free ticket and my son will get a 5 day park hopper plus water parks for $149. $99 for the 5 day base ticket, and $25 for each upgrade. not bad.

so give or take around $574 for 6 nights with tickets.

BB=Bounceback...it's something Disney has been doing for a year or so...when you're onsite for your current trip, there is a flyer in your room to book a future stay, usually w/some sort of "deal"....when I was there in October, it was book 2009 stays w/free dining. When we were there in December it was certain days in 2009 for 30% off.

Free dining...the last 5 years or so they've offered it to the public for dates in late August through September...sometimes into early October. Most of the time they have offered it to Disney Visa holders first, then to the public. This fall they also offered free dining for certain dates through December.

I find out most of this info on the dis or mousesavers.com. Both are great sources to find out codes people are getting.

It IS fun! Last year I met ligrumpygirl & icartjetta! They're super fun! You could always meet up w/Traci (icartjetta) because she lives there!! I know I have & she's fun!!

There is also a thread here that people can post when they'll be there in case they do want to do a meet. http://www.sunshinerewardsforum.com/showthread.php?t=598

The SR meet is Oct 23rd-25th at WDW too!

C'mon Jen - did you make THE call???

Oh did I!! :p

I'm thinking of doing a split stay between my dream resort & DH's dream resort!! WL & Poly...what do you guys think??

What is amazing is that the price to do this is less than $70 more than what we paid to stay at CSR this past December!! I mean...how can I possibly pass this up??

To change my current ressie of BB free dining it would be $145 cheaper since I wouldn't have to get the 1 day base tix for us as this 40% code is considered a room only ressie & I can add the dining plan on.

**Notice my Disney math here...I did not list how much MORE it would be to do the split dream resorts vs the free dining at a moderate. However, I could also amend my Disney math by listing how much I would SAVE by using this code at the deluxes. This IS how I rationalize Disney....I know I'm not alone in this!!**

I think your math is spot on! Book it Dano! After all, you never know when you'll see a deal like this again. As long as you don't have a ton of luggage to move from one resort to the other, it sounds like a wonderful stay. (maybe Disney would even move luggage from 1 deluxe to another?)

I believe they would move our luggage from one hotel to the next since they're both Disney properties. The only thing I'd have to do is pack everything back up & then check out & then check in!!

We'll be there for our 9th anniversary, on 09/09/09....I figure that deserves SOME deluxe magic doesn't it??

That's my theory too Jamie! I'd kick myself if we didn't take advantage of it & since it's so close to how much we spent this year....well, it's really a no brainer...right?? :0)

They DEFINATELY do move the luggage for you and since both resorts are in the same area (well relatively speaking) I would plan some of your day around the MK to make the new check in easier for YOU. (just remember they do not guarentee you luggage to next resort until 3 pm so plan accordingly)

I would do this switch in a heartbeat!!! That would be a very nice anniversary present!!

Yeah, it WOULD be a nice anniversary present....AND I'd be the bigger person & stay at HIS dream resort first (for our anniversary). I think that would be fun.

Thanks for the heads up on the email! I got one too!

Now I dont' know what to do. We weren't really planning to do disney again, BUT.....

And, DH's vacation time is August 15th - 29th, so if we did use the code, it wouldn't start until the 23rd. Of course, we could book two separate ressies. One with an AAA discount for now for the first part of our trip and use the code for the second part.

Oh, what to do!

ETA: I think they are just sending these out randomly because we are not AP holders, nor DVC owners. Never had either one.

We got one, too. I would love to go, this year but I just can't justify it. :( We just went 6-7 months ago and weren't planning on going for another yr or two and then the economy took a nose dive. As a nurse, my job should be pretty secure, but we could really use a new car and that is probably the wisest move. Wow, I sound like someone's mom.

We may be in the same boat. DH's nissan is 10 yrs old but still in good condition and just went over 100K, my soon to be 6 yr old Grand Caravan has 81K on it bc we drive it everywhere since it holds the 5 of us. Hockey takes us 200 miles RT sometimes. We liked only having one car payment and don't anticipate needing a car in the very near future but know we'll need to probably replace both within a few years of each other. We're talking about saving some extra $$ now for a at least one down payment. You just never know with the mileage on mine and the years on DH's when one (knock on wood) could go on you.

Our car is 11 yrs old but only has 62,000, we live in town and since I drive a Camry, it just isn't big enough for vacation so we rent or fly. The problem with my car is that it is beginning to fall apart (cosmetically) plus Grace will be 14 this yr and will be needing a car in 3 yrs (I am going to let her drive to school, her Sr yr.) I want my car paid for before I need to get her one. Good news is that I have seen some crossovers with low mileage (thru Carmax - can we get a deal thru SR, ya think? :p ) and only a couple yrs old for $12-$14000. I have quite a bit I can put down so car payment shouldn't be bad at all. THEN, once that it is settled, I can start thinking about Disney, again, but for next year.

Congrats to all who are using the code. The rest of us will live vicariously thru you.

As most of you know, I love to surprise DH w/something while at Disney (or a trip there for that matter), so I'm really thinking I'll continue to let him think we're staying POFQ (our fave) & then when we arrive he'll find out it is our Dream Resorts Trip!! THAT will be a surprise...but then to have CL...wow! We're going to be so spoiled!!
