Hickory Farms is now 75% off the entire site. I made an order at the 50% and thought it was a great deal, now I have to make another. This stuff freezes well too. With Super Bowl party coming up and DH 50th birthday party, I know I'll go through a bunch of this.

Yep, ok, went in and placed another order, not the entire site is 75%, some items are still 50%, but the majority looks to be 75%. Can't wait for my Baklava....more cheese...jellies....summer sausage...apple cheddar cheese....macadamia fruit cake...mmmmm, and I had it shipped the end of the month since my other was just shipped today.

I'm thinkin' that THIS (http://www.hickoryfarms.com/products~sku~000030~c~150201.asp) is a really good deal even at 50% off, considering the price of cheese at the grocery store these days (INSANE BTW)!

Yep, at over 3lb of gourmet cheese for that price, I had to order. I bought some swiss just the other day at the grocery store, nothing special, and it was almost 9.00/lb. Cheese is very expensive for some reason now.

I just ordered a Block Party as well. Every February, we get together with some of DH's college buddies. Perfect to take along with some crackers and wine. Instant Happy Hour!
I also ordered two of the Summer Sausage/Cheese Gift Boxes. I'm going to take 1 to Disney in March and put the other one in the freezer to take along in June. I like to have snacks in the room and they'll be perfect to nosh on in the room at night.
Thanks, Cindy, for the heads up on the awesome deal!

I've had cheese in the freezer for months and it tastes perfectly fine to me. But, someone please correct me if I'm wrong...the Hickory Farms stuff doesn't need refrigeration until you open it? Is that right? But, if it has an expiration date past our June trip, then I'll throw it in the freezer until needed.

Given that - how's the shipping costs? Love me some cheese and salty meat products, but I'm realy stubborn about shipping charges.

I had a 5lb package delivered for 9.00, to me, thats not bad at all, especially since there is no Hickory Farms anywhere around me, the prices are so cheap and their products are so good. At Christmas they are at the mall, and one little garden veggie dip is 7.00, and I got 3 crocks for like 9.00.

Fan - I just saw where you're from! So am I! (well, 10 minutes East of Rockvale).
I must say...you can't call yourself cheap unless you've shopped at BBs!!! :rotfl:

My shipping was $9.99 for 3 packages. Not sure if they go by weight or price. Given it was 75% off, I didn't mind awfully much.

LOL I'm west of KOP (since we're throwing acroynms out there) by about 25 mins depending on traffic.
I paid 7.99 shipping ordered 4 things and it was about $17 for the 4. I don't like paying shipping but considering what I got for 75% off it was worth it.

Just got my first order today. Got the crocks, they have no expiration on them, they are sooooooooooo nice, will be great for refilling with cheeses too. They do say keep refrigerated. The cheese balls and summer sausage say not to refrigerate till opened. They both have a July expiration, and they will be long gone before then. I will be taking one cheeseball and sausage and crackers to Vegas with me for us to snack on in the room. It even came with a little spreading knife. My next order is set to arrive on Jan 31st, just in time for Superbowl Party. I sent another to a friend of mine today that has lost her job and has a ton of rescue animals and is feeding them, not herself, and loves cheese. I am thinking I may look up the pack that Lanny got, cause thats a deal. I know we have to pay shipping, but considering the prices, and the fact that there is absolutely no Hickory Farms around me, and the little bit they carry in the store is so expensive, I don't mind.

I actually emailed them about that yesterday and they have not answered me about it, so my guess is no. If you use it, you take the chance of not getting SR credit.

Thanks for the update. I decided to just go ahead and order more items - I didn't want to miss out like the two-tier Dancing Deer that I didn't get to order yesterday. I ordered 2 of the Summer Sausage/Cheese Gift Box and 2 Cheese Ball Combo gift box. That, combined with yesterday's order, should keep us Happy Houred for quite a while.

I think he's fine now that the motrin kicked in, he came right home and went to sleep and he's still sleeping. Which is NOT normal for him, I think it's been 4 yrs since he's taken a nap and it was when he was sick. I'm hoping its just 24 thing or something like that and he's feeling better tomorrow.

I honestly don't know it was on my doorstep when I came home, if I had to guess UPS, bc my mail was here too and if I get a package the mail is usually with the package. UPS though sometimes doesn't come until now so who knows!

That's awesome, Pam! I had a good experience from them, too. I ordered (excuse me, my furbabies ordered) the big package of cheddar and sent it to my DD (Lori) and her family. They will be taking care of all my furbabies starting in a week while we cruise in Europe for two weeks. The package shipped quickly and according to Lori, the cheese is outstanding and is being enjoyed by all. My doggies were kind of hoping that they'd get some samples when they went to "live" there, but I'm wondering if there will be anything left, LOL.:rotfl:
