Well I am very excited. Just got off phone and booked a quick trip for a March (20 - 24th to be exact)

Myself, dd9, dd6, my sister and nephew are going!!! We are staying at SSR (hey Janet....which building do you recommend being close to pool and HH? you are the resident expert for SSR:D) Using points so to me that is free (I am using MagicalJen's disney math for that!)

The girls and I have AP's so no cost for tickets......will pay for dining plan with SR gift cards and still have some left over for extras.......I have credit with Jetblue (was going to save that for SR meet in October, but figure may as well use it now and just save up for the flights in October)

So this trip really is a great budget trip for us.......and this has been a long winter......snow snow and more snow. Plus I am using this as an excuse to help me relax (my blood pressure has been very high.....had to start taking some medicine........runs in family :( so I need a V A C A T I O N -sing it like Connie Francis)

Now have to decide on dining.........thinking Kona, Tepan Edo and want to try something new for a change.......Chef Mickey, Grandfloridian for dinner......any suggestions???

Okay done talking....just had to share..........no one else gets this but my other SR disney addicts

You are going to my home!! I love the Grandstand section. Great "quiet pool" and only a 4 or 5 minute walk to the Carriage House (that is the main building at SSR). It is also the first bus stop coming and going!

If you want to be right by the main pool, the section is THE SPRINGS**. Problem there is that it is the last stop and the buses get pretty full by then.

OHHHH I want to see my SSR!!

**EDITED WHOOPS I wrote Congress Park but meant The Springs!

How exciting! You are going to my home as well!!! The Springs is also another option that isn't too far from the main pool and main building if you can't get in the others Janet suggested. Hope you have an awesome time!!!

Cool Shelly......I was wondering if it was when you were going.....maybe we could have Traci meet up with us for a few cocktails!!

I knew you would find this thread!! Okay maybe I will try for the Grandstand section. we don't mind a little walk (sister will be 7 mo preg at time....she would appreciate the first bus stop better than walking 5 min to a pool) I will keep your home clean I promise!!:p

Good for you!! Sounds like you need that vacation!

Re: Dining. I was at Chef Mickey's in November and I wasn't impressed with the food for the price. They changed the set up since I was there the last time (a few years ago) and I think they really cut back on the amount of selections. Here's the link to the menu on allearsnet.

http://allears.net/menu/menu_cmk.htm

The characters on the other hand were terrific. We were a big group and each character made several passes by our tables. That was nice!

We're going to Tepan Edo in April. We haven't been there since the refurbushing. I also have ADR's at Le Cellier (lunch), Cape May and the California Grill. It's DH's birthday and that's where he wants to go. Fine with me!!! :rotfl:

Well, here is where we are going:

Tuesday - Fish place (CS) in Epcot
Wednesday - Crystal Palace
Thursday - Hollywood & Vine FDP
Friday - Le Cellier
Saturday - Boma breakfast, and Jiko dinner (this, with Traci & her DH... maybe you can sneak away for an adult cocktail with us after dinner this night?)
Sunday - 'Ohana (my favorite place ever!)
Monday - Rainforest Cafe lunch, and Boma dinner

Does that give you some ideas? We also loved San Angel Inn at Epcot and with the kids enjoyed Coral Reef, Tony's Town Square, and Chef Mickey's. 1900 Park Fare dinner was fun too.

Good luck making your ADR's! PM me and we'll figure out a place to get together... maybe with Traci too!

Congrats on your upcoming trip. Nothing like a week at WDW to lower the blood pressure. I just cancelled my March vacation last week but DB called tonight to say my nephew is getting married at Poly on March 22 so I may be making a quick weekend trip. (Quick trip but loong drive). I vote you go to dinner at Kona's. The Coconut Chicken is absolutely wonderful. Boma's has a neat breakfast buffet.

Oh how cool, Schaery! What time is the wedding? That is the day we have dinner at 'Ohana... we'll have to keep our eyes peeled for the bride & groom!

Congrats on your quick trip! Have never stayed at a DVC resort, but would love to someday! Also have never taken a quick-almost-here- trip, but would love to someday! You are going to have an awesome time! Would be great if you could meet up with some SR friends! Enjoy the planning (one of my FAVORITE things in the world to do!)

That is just AWESOME Pam...love quick trips.
Dining...I too love Kona, but my good friend tried the Turf Club at SSR last time and said it was one of her favorite meals. Check out the menu.

Can I come in that suitcase with Marilyn too...

Looks like I'll be there 3/22-25. Nephew is getting married at Poly on Tues 24th at 5:00, then we'll be going to the luau afterwards. Will probably only go to the park - probably EPCOT - on Monday. I'll be taking my mom and I know she'll probably want to see the H & G show there. Wish we could fly but tix around here are still too expensive plus AirTran left and they were the only ones who offered nonstops. All other airlines have 3 hour layovers in Atlanta.

You gonna be in EPCOT on Monday? If so, maybe we can meet up somewhere. I'm taking my Mom but she can't ride many rides. I don't mind the single rider line but if you wanna meet, I'd love to have some company for that long Test Track line. Haven't really made any eating plans as it's gonna be a short trip. Nephew is getting married at the Boardwalk Seabreeze Point on Tuesday with the reception being at the Poly luau. We'll get there Sunday afternoon and leave Wed. morning so not much time for eating at all my favorite spots. Oh, but something really cool - part of nephew's wedding package consists of a limo ride for the guests from their resort to the Boardwalk.

Sunday: mgm or AK in morning, head to pool afternoon, dinner at Kona. MK is open late that night and I think just myself and dd9 will stay late....the others can go home to bed..............hey Shelly are you and you dd up for some late night fun at MK??

Monday: Epcot i think most of the day....may just over to MGM since it is easy to get to...........dinner right now at mexico, but going to change to Chefs de France

Tuesday: BReakfast at Crystal Palace............ride a few that the kids requests..........then head back to hotel to swim for the afternoon. our flight wont be until 7:40 pm that night.................so we have plenty of time to enjoy the pool

how does it sound? I am flexible.................if we are having a great time at park I am not going to pull everyone away at such and such time to go back to the pool.. it is scheduled, but flexible.

We actually match up quite a bit, Pam! See my comments below in red. PM me your cell phone number and I'll do the same so we can get together!

okay here is our schedule (I think)

Arrive Friday night....check into hotel and either go to Epcot or DTD for a bite to eat We'll be at Epcot Friday, dinner at LeCellier at 6:45 (remember they close at 8 on Fridays now, but that night is EMH)

Saturday: moring at MK, then go to pool for a bit, dinner at Tepan Edo (japan) going to try to sneak over to see shelly and traci at AKL pool We'll be there from 6 to 8 and maybe after dinner depending on how long they feel like hanging out afterwards!

Sunday: mgm or AK in morning, head to pool afternoon, dinner at Kona. MK is open late that night and I think just myself and dd9 will stay late....the others can go home to bed..............hey Shelly are you and you dd up for some late night fun at MK?? We'll be at AK that day, with dinner at 5:05 at 'Ohana. We won't have hoppers, but could meet up for a Lapu Lapu on the beach after dinner since you'll be at Kona. What time is your dinner?

Monday: Epcot i think most of the day....may just over to MGM since it is easy to get to...........dinner right now at mexico, but going to change to Chefs de France We're at Epcot on Monday, too! No ADRs... planning on eating CS at Morocco for lunch and Fish & Chips and catching some of the live entertainment in the UK and Canada for dinner... so there are plenty of opportunities to meet up someplace at Epcot too.

Tuesday: BReakfast at Crystal Palace............ride a few that the kids requests..........then head back to hotel to swim for the afternoon. our flight wont be until 7:40 pm that night.................so we have plenty of time to enjoy the pool
We're at Magic Kingdom that day, too. We will probably spend a good bit of the day. Our flight is also late... at 7:30 I think so we might see each other at the airport. Who are you flying?

how does it sound? I am flexible.................if we are having a great time at park I am not going to pull everyone away at such and such time to go back to the pool.. it is scheduled, but flexible.

I have a few hours free at EPCOT on Monday morning 3/23, if anyone wants to meet up. I'm gonna go early and take some pics of the flower show before I bring my mom over.

Talked to a friend who just got back from EPCOT and said the flowers were absolutely gorgeous.

I had to drive across our Bayway today (I-10 E.), and hope what I saw wasn't a sign of things to come in WDW next week. The interstate to the tunnel entrance heading toward FL was backed up about 4 miles. I think I was the only AL cartag on the Bayway. Nearly every car was packed full of college-age kids - and very few adults.
