View Full Version : Daily Survey Official Policy

I just heard back from Greenfield, and this is there policy on daily surveys:
Daily surveys do indeed reset at midnight Eastern now. So you can take one at 11:55pm Tuesday and then take one 10 minutes later at 12:05am Wednesday and get credit for both.
The site should tell you when you have reached the maximum number of surveys per day (one). You can keep taking surveys until you get that message. You cannot, however, keep changing your email address to get more surveys. It would be considered fraud to use many different email addresses to be able to get multiple surveys.
So there it is. :sunshine: Greenfield continues to be great to work with, and we continue to see our survey numbers go up as we work with them to make the experience better on both their end and our end.

Is that per day, or at all (like I should go back to using the e-mail I used to use)?

That is per day. I think the point is that if they see that someone is getting several surveys per day using seperate emails this will be considered fraud. The best rpactices would say that you should continue to take surveys until you get the message saying you have exceeded your limit and then stop. I keep a notepad next to the computer and make a note next to the date when I have received that message. Then I know I completed one.

Ok, thanks for the clarification Janet! :)

So, if you do surveys on another site, ie. XX you should stop immediately and can only take surveys on one site?

They didn't actually say anything about doing them on other sites. I'll double check. But they did say that they have asked their affiliates to close the accounts of some members who they felt were defrauding the system.

Thanks Tricia. I'm curious about this (however, I never do more than one survey per day per site). Actually, I don't think the system would allow it because everytime I'm nervous about whether something really went through if I tried to take another one to see if the other one "took" it would either allow me to (meaning the other survey ripped me off, lol) or it would immediately show that I "exceeded the daily survey amount".
I use the same email address on the other site and don't have this happen (unless I did complete a survey on that site and it "took"). So, it never crossed my mind that it could possibly be considered fraud. Pls. let us know what you find out, I don't want to do something wrong.

I would think that if they dont want you to do more than one per day on one site that they wouldnt want you to do more than one per day on ALL sites. I think that the idea is that they only want to pay each person once per day for surveys. If they would be willing to pay across sites why not just pay for more than one on a site per day. This is of course just my opinion and I would wait for the actual word from Tricia.

The few times I have gotten double survey days... it was using the same email address. I'm guessing this is ok.
Also... Getting the SR congrats message does not mean you will get credit... I used to think that it was a sure thing if I got to that page, I would get paid....but I now know that isn't true... I got a survey, finished it...got to the SR congrats message, and it didn't count...last week... so take the extra minute to double check by trying to take another survey.

Thanks for letting us know! I have changed my email in the past but I never repeat surveys. Changing the email just seemed to open up new surveys for some reason. Now I know that is a big no-no and I will continue to use the same one.

The issue isnt with changing your email address. That can be done all day long. As long as they aren't being changed in order to get credit for more than one survey. Some people would take a survey, get the exceeded limit message, clear cookies and change email address in order to get credit for a second survey. As long as you are only attempting to receive credit for one survey a day it doesnt matter what email you are using. If you have to change the email in order to get a survey fine. Once you have completed a survey and recieved the "you have exceeded your daily limit" message STOP taking them. Simple really. Get the message, stop taking them. I have never not recieved credit for a survey I got that message for. NOW, there will be situations where you take a survey and dont get the message so you tak another one and get credit for both. This is RARE but it has happened. In this case I am sure that neither Tricia nor Greenfield will hold you responsible for a fluke that you cant control. It is the people who are taking advantage of the fluke to get more than one survey a day that are going to have fraud issues. I hope this clears it up some. :sunshine2:

I have a question. I have a couple email addresses. I always use the same one unless I clear my cookies and then I have to refill in the info. I never remember which email addy I use and just pick one.
Today I did a survey that I thought I did before. It could have been one that either i did not get credit for or one that kicked me off before the survey ended, I am not sure. If it was one that I did before and actually got credit for - will I get in trouble for that? I never keep track of my surveys or which addy I use for which one. I have never had this happen before and it concerned me today....I didn't mean to do anything wrong, I was just answering the questions. But the whole time I kept thinking that I did this one before....

Doesnt matter, as long as you havent taken and gotten credit for that survey that day you are fine. The issue really is about getting credit for more than one survey a day, not which surveys you are getting credit for.

Thanks for clearing this up. I never checked back to see if I got the exceeded message. I just took for granted that if I got the congratulations screen, it would credit. And, once I did my survey, I considered myself done. That was until I started hearing that some were getting 2 in one day. So, I tried it one day and it worked. I noticed if I did one early in the day and checked back, later in the evening, sometimes I would get another survey. I have quit doing that and I don't do the routine surveys anywhere else. Too afraid of getting in trouble.

OK I am confused. I finished a survey at 11:38P.M. on Tuesday and it is now 12:48A.M. on Wednesday and it says that the daily limit has been exceeded. So when can I take another survey? I thought I would be able to do another one on Wednesday. :computer:

I have found, in my case, that the surveys seem to reset around 3:00-4:00 Am EST. What can I say, I suffer from insomnia. I am always able to get into a new survey sometime after 3:30 AM.

Insomnia sufferer here too. I had the same experience as kayjo. Sometime between 3 and 4 am.

Thanks for finding this out Tricia. I'll have to start keeping notes on surveys like I do offers as I really never remember exactly when I try and especially what email I used.

So, just to make sure that I am not doing anything wrong - it is OK to do a survey early in the morning as soon as it opens up. The one that I took late in the day should post from the day before and the one later should post the next day. Am I correct? I am with you all, I find that I can't sleep so I get up and play on the computer. I like to get the survey out of the way early. :sunshine:

Wanted to add to the pile of people who don't see it open at 12am eastern, or even 12am pacific...it opens some time after that... Not that it *matters*, but in terms of having exactly correct info, which is often important to me ("I think" answers on the dis notwithstanding), I felt the need to back those people up. :)

The surveys reset at about 4:00 AM today. I just got a fairly easy one on refrigerated side dishes.
Just realized I got my 75th post. Now I can access the flash chat!

I don't do a lot of offers on SR (or anywhere else) - I mainly do the surveys. Well, I did a few offers that have not credited, so I cleared my cookies today to see if that would help before I tried any more offers. Then I did a survey (did not get the exceeded survey message), but I might have done one this morning as well. I tried several times this morning, but I can't remember if I got through to the end of any of them.
Edited to add: I did get credit for two surveys for 8/16. Now what do I do?
