Buying a Laptop

The PTA has just given me approval to purchase a Laptop to keep track of the accounts. I am the treasurer. I have $500 to spend - does anybody have any recommendations? I basically only need it to install Quicken.

i'd check out Dell refurbs, as well as NewEgg.com.

Dell refurbs are nice because you can get a "bumper to bumper" warranty that has them come and fix it for you no matter what happens. So you can get the least amount of bells and whistles possible but also ensure that it stays "healthy" for a few years. :) I would check out maybe a Dell Inspiron Mini if you just want a small one.

Thanks for the recommendations but it looks like the PTA president is going to buy it - she's a bit of a control freak!!! I think she has problems delegating!!! I will be glad when she is gone next year!!
