Why you guys don't watch the video blogs or listen to the podcasts. it seems the number of our members that watch or listen is really low. This is a great way to actually see or hear about products....our own truthful reviews. Even if its something you don't need now, its good to know in the future.

Well if you want my honest opinion I watch almost all video blogs, their cute and mainly bc their under 5 mins. I started listening to your podcast 8 and had to pause it after 3 mins and never got back to it. This is just me personally but to have it playing while I'm working for 50 mins is just way to long, so I don't even try sometimes bc I know I'll never get through the whole thing.

truth be told I just never think to do it, and I didn't realise you even had a podcast! I also don't have sound on the computers at work, and I rarely get on the computer at home, so watching the videos don't usually work out for me.
Is the podcast available on itunes as a subscription? If so, I'll be sure to add it to my podcast list!

Yes, it is! I'm usually a regular poscast listener/vid follower, but lately I haven't been listening as the material is irrelavent to me (not a slam on you guys, but you asked). Given that kids being out of school and Father's Day is topical to much of our membership, it's obvious that you guys should do it.

I know what you mean Hedy, I sort of hate that we assign a title like that because we always cover much more then just that, but we have to start somewhere. As you know, we always get off topic (and a little off color at times too). I think in most cases the merchants we pick and reviews we do of products are far more relevant for several titles then just those we advertise as. Thanks for the input, it all really helps. This is the stuff we need to know.

And April, good point about the timing, perhaps we should look at closer to maybe 40 min instead of an hr.

good to know. I obviously haven't been paying attention! I'll add the podcast to my list tonight!

I listened to about half and liked what I heard:), but then I had to go do something else and never came back to it. It's hard to find 50 minutes of free time when you have kids at home.

I listened to the podcast for the first time, and I agree the timing is a little long. I am also a visual person, so the videoblogs are a bit more appealing and take less time! :)

I am trying NOT to spend money. So I am staying away from anything that might motivate me to spend. I know your job is to get us to spend but we are saving money to buy a DVC right now and I HAVE to be good. So I don't look at anything that might tempt me. :)

I do watch the videoblogs...they are short enough for me to fit in...........I have attempted to listen to a few of the podcasts but for some reason it stalls in the middle and says something like "pod... is on vacation try back later".

I never think about it too. When I do watch the video blogs my hubby always laughs at me so I try to do it in my free time which is far and few between.

I'm sorry Cindy, but I don't even know what Podcasts are, and If it's almost an hour long, even though I love SR, I think my patience is too short for that. I think I've watched a couple of the videos which were were good and enjoyable, but again, I think it's a patience issue with me.

Please don't laugh, but I have no idea how a Podcast works. Will any MP3 player play a podcast? I had to have my kids load my music onto my MP3 player, because I have no idea how to do it, except turn it on and hope the music plays.

And I usually do my Sunshine early in the morning, but usually at work, and I'm not allowed to have speakers, so I can't hear the video broadcast.

I'm the old fashion read/text person. I feel bad, because I know I am missing out.

I honestly don't even know what a podcast is either, as far as the videos, I have watched a few.

Time constraints are my excuse. I can't watch all the video blogs (never mind the podcasts), do surveys and paid offers or I'd never get a chance to relax. SR is a reward for me, especially after a tiring day of work. I just want to do what portions interest me in the time I have. No offense meant.

I work full time. For the most part, my SR computer time is spent trying to earn money. I have three e-mail account I try and visit daily (don't ask!), I like to visit the DIS and attempt surveys and freebies on SR. Videos and podcasts - I just don't have time! On a good day, I have an hour and half to devote to SR. (Which is why I couldn't get the 10% bonus for doing five offers!)

No time for me either. But I do at least try to watch your video blogs, Cindy!

Thanks for the reminder. I added it to my itunes list. I listened to the latest podcast and I have some comments... please feel free to delete this post if this is not the place to communicate this info.

get Angie a better microphone. She is hard to hear.

Since I've only listened to the one podcast I don't know if this is a standard format... if it is... I suggest a change to keep it interesting. Instead of 3 long informative ads in a podcast once a month. Do one long informative ad and a "feature". This will keep your podcasts shorter, and maybe you could do them more frequently (twice a month?). By feature I mean something that is interesting, but not an ad. Maybe also a quick bit each podcast about what's new at sunshine rewards. New merchants, new contests, problems with survey credits, what's in the works, whatever is news at SR.

A podcast like a blog needs more than just ads.

I hope this isn't too rude and/or blunt. I love hearing you gals voices and your general chatter... I learned alot about the merchants you talked about.

Great info, thank you. While we talk about SR on there a lot this is not really a SR broadcast so we have to watch how much advertising we do for SR. This is mainly to review different merchants, we just happen to pick ones on SR. LOL We do them every two weeks. We tried for a month of doing videoblogs about SR and what was all happening, even keeping them to about 3 min, but no one seems to watch them. I thought they were a great way to keep everyone informed. I personally think we need to cut down on how long we talk about any merchant, you can only say so much. Hopefully Angie will get a new mic for the next one. Mine is some elcheapo and it seems to work really well.

We definitely appreciate the feedback on this stuff. It doesn't do us any good to invest the time in them if they aren't useful to our members. So it's good to get constructive feedback. :)

I am on dial-up so I don't watch videos - it can take an hour to watch a 5-minute video. I don't have an iPod or MP3 or anything so I don't listen to stuff either. :)

I am totally the minority here...I don't mind the near 1 hour podcasts!! LOL!! I listen while at work or on my way to work. And while sometimes I don't think the subjects will appeal to me, I listen & am always surprised to learn something or want to make a point to look up one of the vendors I haven't really purchased from before.

As for the videos...I can't watch at work & when I'm at home I want to do my offers & surveys so I forget to watch!!

I actually just finished listen to the podcast. First, let me say that the title is what really caught my attention, especially since I've been looking for ideas for the girls. :)

Second, when the question was first asked as to why we didn't listen to the podcast, I stated that I didn't know what a Podcast was. I actually thought I needed an IPOD. I didn't know all I had to do was click and listen. So hopeful some of the others that also thought an IPOD was need will read this and know that it's not! So easy!!

Patience was another reason, but I can do 30 mins. I was also able to pause it and come back to it when someone knocked at the door.

Lastly, It was quite enjoyable. And I do plan on listening again. It's nice to put a voice with the business.

Oh, and Cindy did you take care of those barking dogs?:rotfl:

I have never listened to a podcast. I started listening to it through SR today, but I had to leave to do other things. I check on all my sites many times during the day, but I am rarely on for any great length of time. I check in usually in between doing other things.
