Threads for newbie?!?!

I'm sure there are some NEWBIE threads on here but I can't find them! Could someone point me to some general overview type threads? I just signed up yesterday and I am obviously missing some operational information!! I haven't been able to get into any daily surveys and when I tried to do another survery I kept getting an error message ("enter what language this user speaks at home"--even though I had already filled in that box) or certain sections of the survey aren't lit so I can't finish it.

I think I just need a good tutorial, overview, summary type thing!!!!
