Anyone tried the Vonage offer?

My mom is highly peeved at AT&T since they have taken over Bellsouth. She is never late with payments and they are telling her she missed 2. So...the only other choice is Comcast which is $40/month or the Vonage. :(

She signed up for Vonage through my SR to try it out before she commits to it. Has anyone else done the SR offer?:confused:

Does anyone use Vonage currently? If so, are you happy with it?

I do not have vonage but I was intending to order it when I moved a few years ago instead of the whole AT&T/Southwestern bell nightmare I have now. Sadly my apartment complex only allows satellite for tv/internet and basically requires AT&T if you want a phone so I didn't get to try it out. I have heard good things about them but I think there is a lawsuit against them and I'm not sure how that would affect them operating once it settles so I would not prepay for anything.

and loved it. The only reason why they switched was bc Comcast came to our area and was offering a great deal with the cable modem.
Now Verizon has FIOS in our area and their fighting it out with Comcast and we're the ones who are coming out ahead! :) No complaints here! :angel:

I would defintey give it a try before committing to anything. I know they've been around for at least 5 or 6 years.

I've had Vonage for about a year and a half and I like it. I occasionally have problems sending faxes, but not too many problems with the actual phone service. My mom says it sometimes sounds echo-y on her end, but it doesn't sound echo-y on my end. For us, for the price, it's worth it compared to Sprint/Embarq which is our local carrier or Cox just started voip which is more expensive.

Thanks for all of the feedback you guys. I think she will give it a try. I did the Sunrocket one and never got credit and then it went belly up.:( Hope this doesn't do that.
