Two questions here.
First, how much is shipping? I can't get that without putting my info in, which I don't think I'[m quite ready to do.
Second, how much are the member prices? Are those the prices off to the side and crossed out?
Thanks!

I'm unsure about the shipping, although I know that it is fairly reasonable. Anyone do this offer that can offer help? As for the prices, they are really good. Most of the time they have club editions or special promotions that make books as low as $9-10.

A couple of questions from me, too, please:
1. Are all the books paperbacks? It would seem so from the name, but I see newer books that I don't think have come out in paperback, and some of the pictures look like hardbacks.
2. I read that they don't send monthly shipments. Do they send a card that you have to return in a certain amount of time or they send you the selection of the month? Or do you just have to satisfy your membership requirements without any pressure from them? I can easily find enough books to buy, but I don't want to send cards back or have to keep responding to requests to ship books.
Thanks for any help! I'm always happy to buy books!

Go to the FAQ and it should state how much per book you need to spend to meet your commitment. That's how it is with Doubleday and they are owned by the same company so they are most likely similar. My commitment is 4 more books over $9.98 each before shipping charges.
Here's what Doubleday reads.
Most of the books we carry will count toward your commitment. However, books from your initial enrollment package, special sale books and all non-book items, including merchandise, video products and music CDs, will not count toward your commitment. To keep track of your remaining commitment click on the Account link at the top of the page.
Only books and sets purchased at a price after discounts over $9.98 (excluding shipping & processing and applicable taxes) count toward your membership commitment. (Qualifying sets count as one credit.) Non-book product purchases do not count toward your Membership Commitment.
When I enrolled I received 5 books for $1.00 plus shipping. The total for that order was $20.68. The books I have purchased have been between $13 & $17. On a couple of those they had deals on shipping. They send them book rate so they do take a while but book rate is less expensive.
Keep in mind that this is DOUBLEDAY not QPB but as I mentioned they are owned by the same company. Hope that helps.

Speaking for Doubleday, most of the books are hardcover. I think QPB is the same..mostly hardcover.

You can go to the Site Map at the bottom of the page and check out the FAQ.
No more cards. You just go online and order. I will have to say that Doubleday sends a lot of emails.

Here is the shipping info pasted from the site (I hope it is OK to put it here):
What are the total costs for my introductory books?
In addition to the low offer price for your introductory package, the shipping and handling charges will be $5.74 for the first item, and $1.99 for each additional item plus sales tax where applicable. Counts as two selections will be billed as two separate books. Shipping and handling charges cover all associated costs and services, including labor, materials, packaging and postage.

Tahnks! I tried to find that before, but couldn't find it.
I did just sign up. Total shipping for 5 books was 13.70. I took the extra one for 4.99 so I only have to get one more. The grand total of the order came to 22.69.
My credit is pending too!

No..nothing is wrong with you. It's easy once you do it a few times.
There are several ways to find it.
Go to the SR home page. On the drop down menu tab for Member Zone click on News and Links. There should be drop down menus for Shopping and underneath that offers.
Or
You can also find it under the Offers/Contests tab under Offers by Category.
Once you get there click on Membership Clubs.

I just did the same - order 5 books, total is the same. My credit is also pending.
I was searching and searching for paperbacks (based on the name!), couldn't find any that I wanted, so I got all hard cover. I was hoping to find a few paperbacks I've been looking for since they'd be lighter to travel with, but the hardcovers will work fine.

Thanks for the incentive SR. Now, if only I had ordered them Friday instead of yesterday, I'd get my credit a month sooner!!

My account information is now available on QPB. The good news is it does say I only have to order 1 book by 8/10/10; the not so great news is that all 5 books I ordered are Backordered (and even the "free gift" is backordered). Hopefully they fill their backorders quickly!

I did this offer today and can not wait for my books. My total for 5 five books was about $22, that was $13 for shipping. All my books that I chose were hard cover. I save over $100 - great offer. Thanks.

I'm interested in signing up for either this club or Doubleday, but I can't find any info on how much shipping is AFTER the introductory 5 books. I know the intro offer comes to like $23 or so. Anybody buy another book to fulfill their requirement yet? I'm just worried they might charge like $10-15 just to ship the book, making each book more than I'd ever pay for one. Thanks!
