Hello everyone!

I am new to SR (only been a member since 8/22) and I love it! The only problem is I am noticing that only about 40% of the offers I have done are crediting and it's frustrating! I clear cookies between every offer, I run three different spyware programs (including AG) and I do about 5 offers per day. Can anyone provide any insight as to why so many of the offers I do aren't crediting? Could it be because of my firewall perhaps? I am so confused! I love SR and want to earn extra money for my Disney trip during Spring Break 2008! :mickey: :minnie: :lilo: :stitch:

Thanks so much for any help. I appreciate it! Oh, FYI - I am GoofyBaby on the DISboards!

What internet browser are you using? Are you clearing cookies right after you finish the offer?

A big hello from one DISer to another! :)

I am using Internet Explorer and I always clear my cookies right before I do an offer. Perhaps I should wait until after I do each offer like you said?

Try Janet's method. Do an offer and wait until it credits and see if that helps. There are some though that never credit for various reasons - could be you are in their database from another offer, they track by ip, etc. Some also could be manual credits that take a day or two. Some could have fallen into the dud offer category (we had a couple of those recently).

I would just clear out your history and then do them a couple at a time, wait for them to credit and move on to a few more.

Sounds good. I'll give it a try! Thanks so much! :)

The best option is to not clear cookies quite so often. I am finding that I really only clear cookies if I find that I go to do an offer and they recognize my info right away. The MID offers dont need cleared cookies. If you are clearing cookies before the offers are crediting then you may be getting rid of the cookies before they are able to capture them to give you credit. I would do one or two orders that are from different advertisers (MID, Generous Genie, WSHTS, etc.) and then open the email that you used, click on the confirmation emails (if they send one), once you see that you have recieved credit then you can go ahead and clear cookies if you want. This of course only works for fast crediting offers. Some of the offers will take up to an hour to credit so if you are clearing cookies before they credit you may be erasing the cookies you need. I have begun to only clear cookies first thing in the morning before I sign on and then I will clear again if I am going to do some shopping. As far as your firewall and spywear programs make sure that they are set to allow thrid party cookies. If your firewall is TOO GOOD it may block the cookies and cause you problems.

Thank you Janet! I am still learning the ropes and I really appreciate your help (as well as M n C's help)!

By the way, how can I change the phrase under my user name? I'd like to have something else under there besides, "Brand New Here." :p I've looked everywhere, but just can't seem to find where I can change it!

You can't. only the tag fairy can change that.

I can assure you though that if you hang around here enough it will change. It usually changes into something really silly you say that you didnt mean to say LOL

40% of the offers to post (and always the MID ones) and I only clear cookies and 4-5 days, or more like once a week. Even if the site recognizes your email and shows up when you start typing, you probably have the option set in your browser, bc even after I clear cookies alot of my info still hangs around.

When I say that they recognize me I mean that I click on the offer and my email address or zip code is already filled in. This means that they wont require me to fill in anything and they already have my information. I then have to clear cookies. When I go back the field are empty. As I type the drop down menu will give me options to autofill which is what you are talking about. If you go to do an offer and your email or zip is already filled in dont even bother doing it because you are in the database. Clear cookies and try it then.

Very good. I've noticed that sometimes I have the autofill thing going for me too, but I've never had the information already fillled in, so I'm probably clearing cookies wayyyyyy too much!

I did have a couple more questions: on the offers I've tried that are over two weeks old, is it okay to take them out of pending and try them again? I have over 50 offers in pending! And if so, do I have to use a new email address?

Also, I've noticed that people mention using new email addresses help them get offers to credit more when a previous email address isn't working very much. Is this really okay to do and it's not cheating? I don't want to get in trouble or have my account revoked!

Thanks for all your help! I am learning so much already! :cooldance:

It is okay to use different email addresses and okay to try offers again if they haven't credited. The key to not getting revoked is to not try an offer you have ever gotten credit for and not try too many offers in a short period of time. So if it has been two weeks since you did those offers I would remove them 2 or 3 at a time and redo them with a different email address. Wait for credit or for an indication they wont credit at all and then try a few more. I think a good place to start is actually to go to the 'automatic credits' thread and start at the earliest posts and work backward. Those are credits you know are crediting for everyone so you should expect to see them fairly quickly. If you get to one you have already tried then remove it from pending and try it again. HTH!

I currently have about 20 pending sitting out there. How long should I wait for them to be creditted. I attempted to redo some of the offers and they come back with my email address already there. I have cleared my temp files and don't know what I need to do and how long is a normal amount of time to wait to be creditted. I did read that 2 weeks but several have exceeded that amount of time and when I try again my email address keeps reappearing.

Thanks for any tips!

Brigitte

You can redo them now but you have to use a different email address. I would suggest creating a free email from gmail. Just search for gmail and it will tell you how to do it. Simple , easy and free.

Okay, I've been really reading up on the forums so I can learn as much as possible and had a few more questions. . .

Janet, you mentioned clearing cookies only first thing in the morning or after an offer credits. I tend to to about 5-7 offers per day. Can I do all of the offers at once without clearing cookies and then clear cookies first thing the next day before doing my next 5-7 offers in a row? Or, do I need to do one offer, wait for it to credit, clear my cookies and then do the next one, until I have completed my 5-7 offers?

Thanks again for all of the help! It is so very appreciated! :)

Welcome to SR! I do an offer, wait for it to credit. Clean out cookies and move on to the next offer. I have also found that I need to change email addresses if I am on their list and having trouble getting an offer to credit. A few wks back, I started keeping a list of the offers I did and which email address I used so I wouldn't be using the same one all the time. Then, I got busy and sloppy and having some trouble with crediting. The past couple days I repeated some old offers and used a new email address and had good luck. HTH:sunshine:

I just have one last question or so I hope! You mentioned changing my email address. Now when I do that will SR still recognize my new email address I supply them or should I also change it here with SR??

Thank you!

They will know it. They track by IP address mainly.

SR tracks by userid so it doesnt matter what email you use for offers. I use one master email address that is registered with SR so I can be sure to get their emails. I use many different email addresses to do offers.

If the offers you are doing in one day are from different advertisers (i.e. What She Has To Say, Generous Genie, Superb Rewards, Party with a star,) chances are you wont have to clear cookies in between. If you are doing offers from one advertiser you will need to clear cookies after the first one has credited and before doing another one. Best bet is to choose vastly different offers and do them. Also, dont do a bunch of membership offers (i.e. Synovate, Baby to bee, ACOP and other survey memberships) in one day because they tend not to credit. I would only do those one at a time and clear cookies afterwards. Anytime you go to do an offer and see that you don't need to enter your information, like, email address or zip code, then immediately close out the offer and wait to do it after you have cleared your cookies. HTH!

I have offers from august 24th, do you think i should try to do those offers again or give it more time?

Redoing offers is really a tricky thing. I wouldn't mess with redoing offers unless you get to a point where you have done EVERYTHING that you are going to do. If you have been a member for months and have tried everything at least once, then you can go back and try to redo some of the freebie ones that didn't credit. But you are just putting yourself at risk if you are fairly new and you are trying to do tons of offers and then turning around and redoing them within just a few weeks.

That makes sense and I will find that much easier than going back and forth writing down the offers and trying to figure which did and which didn't.

Thank you that makes plenty of sense, sometimes I suffer from common sense confusion, I like to make things too complicated sometimes!

OK tossing out the pad and pen yipppeee!
