Disney Dollars or Disney Gift Card

Which do you think is better to redeem, disney dollars or gift card? What would the difference be?

GC's because Disney Dollars cannot be replaced if they are lost in the mail, gc's can!

I would say GC's because you dont pay the extra .25 for shipping. I would also say that if you aren't needing them anytime soon I would hold off on cashing out. Sometime next month there will be a special Disney cashout where you can get Disney Gift Cards for less than face value. It is usually at least 1-2 dollars of savings.

Disney Dollars because you get real cash back when you use them. With a Disney gift card you have to use them all for Disney stuff. :) I like knnowing I may be able to go home with cash left over. :)

S/O Question: Is there a difference on where the two are taken? I know GCs can be used for reservations and in the resorts. Do DD work the same way?

used to pay for hotel etc, but I do know that the DD will/can be taken at the smaller concession stands through out the parks where GC may not.

I'm defintely going with mainly GC (will cash out and have enough so far to pay for Chef Mickey and souviners) but if I can pick up some DD to take with me I will.

What would the expiration date be on the gift card? I know you can buy disney dollars with a disney rewards card, I have done that in the past.

Gift cards do not have expirations.

You can use dollars, supposedly, anywhere Disney cards are accepted. They were even accpeted more places then cards for awhile. LIke to pay for DDP at some DVC. they were not set up to take the gift cards but could take DD. They now can take both.

Does anyone know if a gift card can be used at espn restaurant or any other restaurants on the boardwalk.
