I think one of the scariest movies is the original Halloween with Jamie Lee Curtis fighting off Michael Myers. That music just creeps me out to this day. If you're brave enough, you can buy it at barnes and noble for $13.49 and cheaper if you're a member.

Cape Fear with Robert De Niro totally creeps me out. I watched that movie in the middle of the day, but I was looking under my car and in the closets of my apartment for weeks after I saw it! Robert De Niro was so great as a man determined to get revenge, and the movie was just believable enough if you crossed the wrong person in life - no aliens, no random acts of violence or teenagers at creepy camps - just one man determined to completely ruin someone else's life.

You can get it at Deepdiscount.com for 20.62.

Length 87 minutes

Synopsis
Child's Play seems to have been concocted by a parent who went berserk after standing in line for hours on end to purchase a Cabbage Patch doll in the early 1980s. The film opens with serial killer Brad Dourif taking refuge in a doll factory. Dourif is killed by the cops, but not before he has invoked a voodoo curse which transfers his soul into one of the dolls. That particular doll, nicknamed Chuckie, is unwittingly purchased by Catherine Hicks for her son Alex Vincent. Several murders occur shortly thereafter; all evidence points to Alex, who insists that his cherub-faced doll is responsible. Detective Chris Sarandon, the man responsible for Dourif's death, doesn't swallow Alex's story, but he agrees to investigate because he's sweet on Alex's mom. The slasher-flick ending of Child's Play would seem to have settled Chuckie's hash for good and all, but guess again--the film spawned numerous sequels. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

The Tingler (1959) starring Vincent Price.

It's campy now but it scared the living heck out of me when I was 10. :D

It's available at DeepDiscount.com for $5.99.

Here's the synopsis:

Vincent Price stars as an obsessed doctor who discovers that fear manifests itself as a parasitic creature which grows on the spinal cords of terrified people. If they scream the Tingler can be destroyed. If they don't it will sever the spinal column and kill them. He successfully isolates and removes the Tingler from a deaf mute (Judith Evelyn) who has been scared to death by her devious husband. Once captured the Tingler escapes and runs amok in a crowded movie theater. Terror is loose but can it be stopped? THE TINGLER is legendary horror director William Castle's magnum opus. After the success of The House on Haunted Hill Castle devised a new gimmick called "Percepto" for the Tingler. Participating theaters would wire seats so that random moviegoers would get a tangible electric shock during climactic moments in the film. Another novelty used to maximum effect is the short color sequence depicting blood pouring from a faucet and filling a bathtub.

I know I can't win, but I had to play! I used to love scary movies. In fact, I was the biggest jerk making fun of everyone who covered their eyes. Now, I'm the biggest chicken on the planet. I can't stand scary movies. If I even think about a particular movie too long I might be up all night! Psychological thrillers are the worst!

The last scary movie I saw was The Ring.

Scariest movie. EVER. No questions asked.

Disney's Enchanted, available at Bestbuy.com for 14.99 on DVD and 29.99 on Bluray.

Now WHY do I think this kid's, Disney movie is the scariest one ever and I refuse to watch my copy when it's dark? Because it CAME TO LIFE IN MY APARTMENTF the last time I saw it. I had mice running loose that night and never did finish the movie. Stupid emergency maintenance people didn't think my critters were an emergency at midnight on a Friday night either. When the office opened the next day, she said she would have been scared out of her mind too.

One of my current favorite scary movies is the Swedish movie Let The Right One In. Forget Twilight, this is the way a vampire movie should be done!

It is a fantastic film that defies any genre. It is both chilling and sweet as it explores the relationship between two 12-year-olds, Oskar and his new neighbor, Eli, who is not an ordinary girl. She becomes his friend and teaches him how to stick up for himself as he is bullied by neighborhood kids. I know that sounds odd, but it really works.

It was honestly one of the best films I watched this year. The child actors give amazing performances and their relationship is actually very sweet. Hollywood is planning to <STRIKE>ruin</STRIKE> remake the movie with English-speaking actors.

You can find this must-see film at DeepDiscount for $21.44 and free shipping! http://www.deepdiscount.com/viewproduct.htm?productId=60258403

There are only 2 movies I've seen where I begged to leave the theater and go home:

"Night of the Living Dead" (original version made right here in my hometown of Pittsburgh). I saw it at a drive-in (I know, I know . . . I'm showing my age) and when I got home, I went into my mother's bedroom and laid on the floor all night next to her bed. I did not sleep a wink that night!

"Alien." The first one. I went with my brother and kept asking him to leave and go home. His response was "No . . . this is great!" Another movie where I stayed awake all night.

Both are available at amazon.com.

DVD: Cape Fear (Widescreen)

Master filmmaker Martin Scorsese brings heart-pounding suspense to one of the most acclaimed thrillers of all time. Fourteen years after being imprisoned, vicious psychopath Max Cady (Robert De Niro) emerges with a single-minded mission: to seek revenge on his attorney Sam Bowden (Nick Nolte). Cady becomes a terrifying presence as he menacingly circles Bowden's increasingly unstable family. Realizing he is legally powerless to protect his beautiful wife Leigh (Jessica Lange) and his troubled teenage daughter Danielle (Juliette Lewis), Sam resorts to unorthodox measures which lead to an unforgettable showdown on "Cape Fear." Visually stunning images and brilliant performances from a talented cast highlight this roller-coaster ride through relentless psychological torment.

Fido can be found at DeepDIscount.com used for $11.92

Lying somewhere between PLEASANTVILLE and NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, FIDO is a zombie buddy pic/love story set in a picture-perfect, technicolored 1950s suburb. With the world still recovering from a zombie war that broke out several decades prior, the town of Willard has found a way to keep the peace. The world beyond the gates may be overrun by zombies, but fortunately a huge corporation called ZomCom has managed to domesticate the undead, turning them into faithful servants of the human race. Director Andrew Currie's movie follows a young boy named Timmy (K'Sun Ray) as he develops a friendship with the zombie (Billy Connolly) his mother purchases to impress the new neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Bottoms, when she finds out Mr. Bottoms (Henry Czerny) just happens to be the head of ZomCom itself. Naming his new friend Fido and initially treating him like a poorly-behaved dog, Timmy soon confirms what he always secretly suspected – that zombies can have feelings too. No one is more surprised by this than Timmy's mom, Helen (Carrie-Anne Moss), who, as an escape from of her rude, zombie-phobic husband (Dylan Baker), develops some very human feelings for the household zombie help.

I think I would have to say that one of my favorite scary movies is Candyman. The reason being is that was one of the first horror movies that my wife and I saw when we were dating.

You can get it on dvd at Amazon.com for $5.99 (Special Edition)

I am a whimp and all because of the Exorcist and Halloween. Swore off scary movies after watching them. So, these days my favorite Halloween movie, hands down, is Hocus Pocus. Watched it the 1st time when Grace was 2. Screamed when I saw Bette Midler's honey, the first time coming after the kids.

You can get it at Amazon for $5.99. http://www.amazon.com/Hocus-Pocus-Bette-Midler/dp/6305428042/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1256232626&sr=1-1

Before I was a wimp, this was my favorite scary movie. This is a totally lame movie, but I was only 9 when I first saw it and it freaked me out. :rotfl:
