After seeing our affiliate links on some pretty icky sites, we decided to close the program that we were running. As a result, we have a little extra "advertising" money to use right now. Icky sites is an understatement. I am so glad that after pondering for months and months you have closed down that affiliate program, those people were scum. Anyway, I'm glad to see that money being put to better use advertising with our own members. Good choice Tricia.
Don't let anyone out there fool you, closing our affiliate program only means better things for SR by doing away with all the problems and extra work it caused.

Of course the first day the FB survey button was there I used it and had 2 friends sign up, I don't think they've done much but one is a disney addict who i've been hollering at for years and the other goes to my church so both I can get them started with it but they were last week! lol

I used the shopping credit button to post about my travelocity credits, $23 is almost a gc (well maybe it is for SM at Regal have to check) for a present!!!!

I think the contest description could use some clarification... it isn't clear to me how many winners the contest has...

The top part leads one to think one winner plus one more winner chosen from the winners active signups...

but the fine print says something about three winners...

Tricia, I wanted to let you know I think this contest is a great idea. I have a friend who seems very interested...not sure if she's checked out the site or not yet, and I dont want to hound her, but I am hoping she'll join. If so she would be my first referral, and I have been a member for a LONG time!

For me, I can't understand how so many of my friends have shown an interest, but none of them actually follow through and check SR out, even after I follow up. There are always excuses...it drives me crazy. I know I am not the most active member at times, but I love SR, and I talk about it every chance I get. It boggles my mind why others wouldn't want to take advantage.

I do think that the FB links are a great thing too to increase exposure...that is what has gotten one of my friends asking...we'll see.

Now on the survey and shopping pages there is a button for Facebook. When you click on it you will be asked to sign into facebook and then it will feed your referral link into your status update and put something like "I just earned money for taking surveys/shopping at XYZ with Sunshine Rewards. Ask how you can too."

Don't forget that our referral contest is still in full swing and anyone could win it!! Here are some things you might want to consider posting about on various boards, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Remember that even if you are not posting your referral link, sometimes people will ask you for it if they are interested enough in what you are saying:

1) Our Holiday Giveaway -- over $1000 in prizes
2) Our temporary cash back increase of 4% for Disney Shopping
3) The referral contest itself and how the new member can win a gift card
4) Our three daily survey opportunities (did you get a bonus yesterday?)
5) Cash back increases right now on popular merchants like Kmart and Shoebuy
6) Our newest merchants like Mattel and Moosejaw

Those are just a few things that might get someone's attention. :) And don't forget to use our Facebook application to post on your wall when you take a survey or shop through SR. A lot of people have been getting referrals through Facebook.

I officially got my first active referral!! My dad :sunshine:

I tried to get him to join the forums, but he said that wasn't his cup of tea. Hopefully we can all spread a little sunshine on him, he has been unemployed for awhile now (as many are) and can't find a new job :(
