So I'm debating bringing a semi-formal dress on my 4 night wonder cruise in December. As it's made of tulle, I'm thinking a garment bag might be good to take that as well as my pirate costume (go big or go home, right?). However, as JetBlue doesn't have a closet on board, should I just buy one and try to fit it in the overhead? Are the folding ones any help?

I never take a garment bag anymore and rarely use the garment area of my suitcase for anything other than more space to fold clothes in. I found the best way for me to take my easily wrinkled garments is to fold them up with tissue paper between all the folds. For garments that wrinkle less, I frequently find that rolling them helps. I love to roll up an entire outfit together, ie shorts, top, underwear. It not only helps me remember what I planned to wear together, but also helps resist wrinkles. I don't like to be forced to "think" too much when I'm cruising, lol! :rotfl:

We have one of those hard sided folding ones. I don't know that it really helps that much. Folding it gently in the dry cleaner bag seems to help more.

I realize this isn't what you are looking for but my thought process on the cruise we took in July which required 2 formals/semiformals was that I didn't care about a couple of wrinkles as I'd never see any of these people again. So I just folded the one that would wrinkle up and threw it in my suitcase. It didn't look too terrible. LOL

I have heard of the rolling thing so I might try that out next time.

I've found the Downy Wrinkle Releaser works great or you can use the irons in the laundry room.

I thought rolling some things, did help reduce wrinkles. There are irons in the laundry rooms- although it can often get crowded in there.

I use Downy wrinkle remover all the time while traveling, that stuff is great. I've also been rolling my dressier knit outfits, saves room too and also I've been using those plastic cleaners bags, they work great but inevitably there will be wrinkles, if you look around at other people, they are wrinkly too! I worry more about someone having the same exact outfit as I do more than having wrinkles in them! :rotfl:
