if you were going to buy books, which site would you do it from?

is the barnes and noble one the only book site?

Nope. If you go to shopping by category there is a book and magazine category with quite a few bookstore options.

Not sure which book you are looking for but how about trying out the new product search and seeing if it pulls up by title.

Depends on what kind of books you are looking for...I'd check out the offer pages for book clubs first and see if there is one that will meet your needs. Don't know what is currently available, but there have been several.

I have ordered from Alibris. I thought the shipping was kind of slow, but it was actually a book sold by a seller on their site, so it was probably out of their control. They send me e-mails with coupons now, which is a good thing!

I almost always order from amazon out of habit, so I am trying to remember to order from sites that give me a credit! :sunshine:

This wouldn't be good for gift giving, but for yourself, if you're looking for budget wise, BookCloseouts.com was excellent. I rec'd about $70 worth books and tapes for my daughter, for $19. The covers were just slightly worn, other than that, the inside pages looked new and in perfect condition.

But don't think you'd want to give used books for Christmas! Just an fyi if you looking for yourself. :)

Zooba offers a nice SR credit for signing up. All their books are only $9.95 and they are nice hardcover books. My first book was The Joy of Scrapbooking and it was great! The downside to Zooba is they don't have as big of a selection as some other book sites.

I like buy.com for books. It's not actually on the books and magazine list, but they have a great selection!!
