I can't figure out how to get my $10 on a debit card from them. All I see is linking my bank account to them. I don't want to do that so can somebody walk me through this?

I've actually had a problem with them..........although I did get credit here at SR and followed all of the steps that were asked of me, I still to this day have not rec'd my card and that was over 2 months ago that I did this! Their site is odd to me. I did do a deposit of 10, but feel like they now 'have' my money. I know it is not a lot, but it is my money and for some reason I am not able to get access to it.
I am not sure as to what to tell you to do to link up with your debit card, but maybe you could call the company first and see what they say

Is there an option to give them your SSN instead? The other Janet did that and hasn't had an issue with obopay or her credit report and she did it months ago.
I watched many other members do this before, but I was too scared. However, $8 is worth a try and I just did it. You are required to give your SSN and cell phone #. They called to verify. Then sent a text message. After that my welcome email said my card would be in the mail and should receive it in 5 to 10 business days.
Now I hope to get credit. :sunshine:

I'm confused...is it a free $10. card and an $8. credit, or is it $10 that we deposit into an account and they send us a $10 debit card?

It is a free preloaded $10 mastercard. You will also get a SR credit for doing the offer. It is kinda like the MIO Visa's. I did it months ago. Never had any problems with it.
Now as far as getting the card that took me awhile. It should be on your account page. There will be a little bar that says get my card(or something to that affect)
I hope this helps all of you!

ok please explain this. it is a free preloaded $10 card. where does the ten dollars come from? are they giving us the $10 or is this $10 coming from our accounts?
i mean the front page says, sign up and get a free $10 card, to me this says they will give me ten plus 8 from sr. could someone break this down slowly for this old gal. :sunshine:

i'm a little hesitant about giving out my social security number and cell phone number to a total stranger just to get $10 debit card. how do we really know how safe this is and that it is not a scam or a way to steal my identity? also, how does this debit card work?

Correct. They are going to give you a card already loaded with $10. You can then choose to add to this amount or whatever. I did not add extra money. I just got the card with the money on it from them and spent it!
Yeah!! I got my credit!
So far things look good for obopay!

Hey Amy,
How long did it take you to get credit? I completed this offer earlier today.
Thanks!

I have a similar post in another thread about obopay but wanted to let you know what I read on Obopay's site. In order to get the $10.00 you have to have your account validated(usually by social security number, although this did not work for me and they want me to fax them my drivers license), link obopay with either your bank account or credit card, put at least 10.00 on your account, and do one transaction. Then you will get the 10.00. That's what I read in the Help area of their site. I hope this helps! I for one, am a little leery giving them my DL info. I also don't understand why a SS number works for some people but not others. I hope I get credit without having to give up my DL number.

I did this offer on Friday afternoon. I think Tricia must have put in some work getting these manual credits done this morning. It will depend on when she gets to the manual ones again.
I love SR!!

I did this some time ago. Never any problems, I load it w/ my regular bank debit card. I didn't have time to search too much, but did find out they are affiliated w/ Verizon and CitiFinancial/CitiBank. Google has alot of info.
But the best gauge to by is...if you're not comfortable doing the offer, then it is probably best to skip it.
ETA: Their customer service is excellent. I left my card in a diner, and called as soon as I got home. They cancelled my card and I had a new one in less than a week.

I did none of that and I got a MC with $10 already on it. I have never given them any of my bank info. I have even used the card. Now they may have changed this, but the only thing I gave them was my SS#.
