We were notified by the company that the following offers are having 73 members credits revoked. They sited not valid emails. We have naturally fought this, and I'm waiting for a reply today. You may see some credits revoked, so I wanted to let you know. The offers are:
SurveysforFun.com
WhatSheHasToSay.com
winningsurveys.com
We think this is really crappy, but other then disputing it, theres not much we can do. We did however let the company know that in the future we would not use them if they revoked our credits.

Well since I have not received credit from any of these I shouldn't have anything to worry about. They can't take back money I never received can they?

If we are among those losing credits, will this result in us potentially being banned from SR or being on warning?

That sucks Cindy. What makes me mad is that all 3 of those offers require you to click on a confirmation email from them to receive credit so them saying that its invalid emails is a joke!

No, you will not be banned or reprimanded or anything by SR, we think they are full of hooey.
Probably, a lot of people did not confirm their emails which is why they think we are sending them fake emails. We know a lot of the people on that list and know that they aren't cheating the system. I was really hoping my name would have been on it, but it wasn't.

When will we see the reversed credits? Are they from ALL of the What she has to say or just one survey from them? That could really add up! I probably have done 2 or 3 or more of the What she has to says, I think. I am nervous now. Will that do anything to our SR membership? Will we be banned? I cannot see us being banned since we haven't done anything wrong, that I know of.

I agree. You have to click on the emails. How repulsive. What jokers. :computer:
That stinks!!
I think these come to my spam folder too! I am pretty sure there was one of those that credited without me clicking the email though. Maybe that is the problem. Is this all of the credits SR received or just for some of them?

Of course, the difficulty with confirming is that their emails usually go into the spam folder. Although I try very hard to keep track of offers which require you to verify, it can be tough when there are hundreds of emails in that folder! :(

I am wondering if I am one of the ones they want to revoke. I just discovered my confirmation email in my spam folder and clicked on the link in there to confirm. Hopefully my credit won't be revoked as mine credited right away. I didn't realize I had to confirm anything because it Did credit right away.

Did they give any indication of dates they were looking at? It's not that important but I was just curious.
I have one WSHTS that I remember and it was quite a while ago. Probably one Winning surveys a while ago too.
I just checked the current ones listed and I haven't done any of those. They never credit for me so I didn't bother.

These companies are scamming people into thinking that they actually have a chance to get some big prize for answering a few simple questions. Has anyone ever actually gotten any of those prizes?? So they trick people into giving them emails for prizes that they never get and then sell the emails and they are claiming that we are cheating them. They have some nerve.

Like the others said, my email address isn't fake, but my confirmations go to spam, so I for sure missed them. Dang, I usually have very good luck w/these...guess I won't be anymore!!
Thanks Cindy for letting us know & having faith in the SR members!! Means a lot that you know we're not scammers!!

Here's my opinion. If I received credit for them quickly, I don't look to see if I should have responded to a confirmation e-mail. So if I did get one, I probably didn't submit it because I already got credit for it and didn't think I need to.

10-24-2007, 11:36 AM
Hmmm...I guess since they are revoking all of the credits because of the "fake" email addresses, they will also be deleting all of the email addresses that they got from SR too, right?
It should go both ways otherwise they are being unjustly enriched. Not fair! :computer:
I'm glad to know that you told them that SR won't work with them again in the future. No matter what they might claim, SR generates better quality traffic then any other rewards site out there! (Of course I may be a little biased :) )

I don't believe I have ever received credit from those companies either. But I figured it was because SOMETIMES I do not check my email everyday and when it gets too full of stuff I just delete it all in one batch. However, I know for a fact that I have gone looking for a confirmation email from at least one or more of those companies and clicked on it and still not gotten credit.
All that aside, as one person said to get the credit you have to confirm receiving the email so HOW can they claim the emails are fake. That makes no sense. OK Rant over

that does stink! I know I clicked on my emails at valid email addressess so I shouldn't be in jeopardy but my mom JUST started and when she did them she used her main email. It did not send any email that she could see so I told her to get herself a hotmail email to use at SR. She did that and then tried them again and they worked. She just started so if they got revoked it would really discourage her. She is having a hard time figuring this all out.

I know that I've gotten credit from them and I have valid email but I haven't done any of the surveys they continue to send to my box. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'm glad to know that SR won't continue to send us offers from them since I don't think it's fair for them to get our email address and do whatever they want with it, and then revoke our credit.

I just looked for email confirms for you. Looks like the only one I did (or got credit for) was the WSHTS Apple iPhone on 8/17...and unfortunately I just emptied my email account of that older stuff.
Like another poster pointed out, I don't check for email confirms if the credit comes through since only sporadic offers send them. I'm terribly sorry if that means credits will be revoked. :(
Thanks for taking on the battle for us - hopefully we'll prevail.

I got into a bad habit with the MID ones that were crediting without clicking the confirm. I think as a rule of thumb we will just have to remember to click on the confirm and pass it around to others when they ask about offers. Its an extra step but at least it will help when SR needs to prove that we have valid emails.

I try to click on them all but I don't always check other email addresses besides my main account. On these all of them are already gone in my gmail if I used that. I have all the spam from then. Over 1100 emails in 3 days.

I am guilty as charged. It seems like a week or so ago, there was an offer that credited almost instantly. I never did click the email though. But just because I did not click it, does not mean my email is fake. I just did not bother since it had already credited. Sorry if I caused any more troubles for you guys. :computer: :computer:

Here is what I do when it comes to completing offers. If I am going to go in and complete an offer I open a seperate tab in IE for gmail and open the gmail account that I am going to use. I empty the account of all message in the inbox and the spam folder. Then I go and do the offer and move it to pending. I then switch over to the gmail tab and wait for the confirmation email to come in and click on it. Since I have emptied the inbox and spam folder already it should be amoung a very few emails I recieve. I click the confirmation email and wait for credit. Then I repeat again always clearing the email account before I do another offer. I only use one email address at a time so it makes it easier to track. Hope this helps for future reference!

They were also just sent on the 17th, that was barely a week ago. For all they know all 43 of us could have been on vacation, sick or whatever and just hadn't had the time to confirm as of yet!

This is EXACTLY what I do for the offers that I know for sure I'll need to click on a confirmation email. I know I've done this with the WSHTS offers and I've been paid for them after I've clicked on the confirmation link.
I also know that I've completed a "WinningSurveys" offer a few times and and never received any confirmation emails. I'd receive other junk that was solicited through that survey - but, never the email to confirm so I would get paid.
What a bummer to give out my email address to these companies and have them cry fraud. I even go all of the way through some of these surveys that seem like they are 50 pages long. ARGH!!:computer:
I wish I had some of those confirmation pages but, unfortunately - they are long gone to where ever all junk mail goes during those scheduled dumps.....

If my name is on there, thier full of crud!!!! I've gotten credit from them AND have clicked on the confirm email.

Have the credits been revoked yet? I'm just curious b/c I'm 100% certain I clicked on the confirmations b/c I click on everything, plus I remember talking about them in the Auto Credit thread for those who were not getting credit. So if I'm on the list then something definitely fishy. I always delete them after clicking though to keep my inbox clean, will start keeping them longer now.

I think that I may be one of the guilty parties, but not on purpose. I was on vacation for a couple of weeks and when I came back I was trying to catch up on some offers. I have 2 separate e-mails one personal and one for offers and for some reason when I put in the e-mail on one of the offers I used the 1st part of one e-mail address and the 2nd part of my other e-mail address by mistake. I don't know what made me realize that I even did that, just later that day it came to me and I think that it was WSHTS. I don't mind if they revoke the credit, because it was my mistake, I just hope I don't get in trouble with SR.

The only way to really tell is to use Janet's method of clearing out your email and spam folders and keeping it open as you do offers. I have some known ones listed in the FAQ thread but it would be nearly impossible to try and keep track of every offer. I'll try to make a mental note to add in if it had a confirm or not when I post in the auto credit thread. Hopefully other people will as well.

I never confirm with the emails. I didn't know that I had to. Does it say you have to confirm in an email after you finish doing the offer? How do we know we are supposed to be confirming emails? Does it say that on here somewhere? I can't remember reading about it if we do. I did read the FAQ thread. I am still a little lost on this site but I am learning a little more than I did. So, after we do offers then I need to make sure and look for an email. I usually get about 200-300 spammers each day so that is going to take some time.

It won't take any time at all if you use the method I mentioned above because your mailbox will be emptied and the confirmation emails usually come within minutes of doing the offer. Try it out the way I mentioned and let me know if it works for you.

Janet, I tried your method last night. I opened a new account and clicked on the confirmation right away. Took just a few extra minutes!!! I too, am probably on that list although I continue to receive tons of spam from them! Sorry for all the hassle!!!!

Still going round and round with them. They are saying that the email addys they have are bouncing back and therefore not real. I tried the same addys and only had one do it. We've probably sent 8 emails back and forth since yesterday, and our rep is doing what she can. She thinks I'm really mad at her so she is meeting with her boss to see what can be done. I volunteered to send her the exact email I sent to the email addys, let her try it, and see if they bounce back. I think the advertiser is trying to scam both of us because their explanation is not holding any water with me.

I find it really strange that these sites have already sold our e-mail addresses, reaped the rewards for me and other site members getting lots of spam resulting from those sites, then turning around and trying to say the e-mail addresses aren't real. So..........it seems to me, they want to get paid for our e-mail addresses, but don't want to pay us for providing them with them by stating they are not real. Nice scam!

Cindy:
Have them try this: Make THEM send another email to everyone they want to revoke---I guarantee those of us who didn't reply to the confirmation, either because they didn't know they had too, or simply forgot---will make sure they send back the confirmation ASAP to verify the account. I know I will keep bumping up this thread to let everyone know of this action. I think burden of proof should rest with them. Just as everyone before me has said, I get thousands of emails each week and they are the ones profiting!

Just curious, are the emails that they are claiming are bouncing all from the same email provider? Or is it an equal mix of yahoo, hotmail, gmail, etc.?

I wonder if the advertiser's email address is somehow accidently added to the blocked email address list of those people. I know that sometimes AOL will do that to me. I will delete a message without reading it and somehow the next one from the email address won't go through. Just a suggestion.

Have you been told directly that you are one with an invalid email address?
I know that gmail seems to "screen" so much of my mail. Several times when I've used that account for an offer, I've waited for a confirmation email and never got it. Checked both spam and regular and it never showed up so I had to resend the confirmation and it seemed to work the second or third time. It's really strange.

I did that last What She Has to Say with my gmail address too, and I kept checking for a confirmation email but one never showed up. I didn't get credit for it but I didn't expect to since the confirmation email never came.
When you mark something as spam and delete it, the host (yahoo, gmail) then blocks that sender, right? That may be where the problem lies, as others have mentioned.

I know many of us change our e-mail frequently. Is it possible they are sending to an used account that is "full?' I have two open gmail accounts I have not even opened in one and two months. My guess is the spam folder is full and e-mails are bouncing back.
I tried to make sure I had nothing I was expecting a confirmation for before I changed e-mail; but you never know.

Last time i looked gmail can hold over 4GB of mail and spam is auto deleted after 30days So i think it would be very hard to fill a gmail with spam.. I think an account would need to receive over 25,000 spam messages a day on gmail every day non stop to even have a chance of filling the box up....
and on my accounts that i use i average no more that 10,000 spam messages in any given 30 day period and that is only about 90MB...
Thats whats so great about gmail and other high limit no limit web mail its almost imposable to be filled with junkmail....
Cindy-I just got an e-mail from WSHTS-is that any good for you?

This is exactly what I do! I was not getting credit for a lot of offers a while back because I would miss the confirmation emails with all the other junk. I started getting LOTS of credits when I started this system.

Just another reason why SR is great, but we also, know that you can not always do that... So thank you... If i remeber in another post you mentioned you worked out a better agrement with them as well and they gave us some of the good offers for the contest as well! Thank you Tricia, and Cindy, and the rest for working hard to find offers, and keep the credits we have earned...

Letting us keep the credits was VERY GENEROUS!
Just as an aside, we just came home from vacation and found 7 "What She Has To Say" survey opportunies in my DH's yahoo account. You know, that was the illegal e-mail address. Sheeeeesh! My DH will not be doing any of those surveys!!!!
